Yes, they were pressured by producers and given financial incentives as well. They received "talent fees."

Poor Theresa bought into the tightly crafted GB persona and thought Gerry was a prince. Um, no. She seemed a lot less giddy once the ex's account was made public. And much less happy after all after getting to know the real him, who is controlling and cheap per his ex.

He gushed a few times about her being a professional woman. On a sense, there were massive cultural differences from the beginning. He's from rural Indiana and she's a NJ career lady. That is difficult to bridge. Also think that deep down, some of his aw shucks personna was TV BS.

Big cultural gaps, absolutely. I suspect he would not fit in well in New Jersey long term, he stands out like a sore thumb. As a sidenote, I also never bought that she would leave her daughter and her daughter's family. And I suspected her daughter would not easily separate either. His daughters might have felt the same: Reluctant to let their parent go.

I’ve run into him in the airport, as have friends of mine and his head is on a swivel, always looking to take photos! He wants to be noticed and loves attention from women. Most recently he was touting his new BMW on socials.. this is not a man who wants to be married and living a quiet life.

I disagree with your points about that goober, but I do think the authentic infatuation between Joey and Kelsey made them look bad. Especially him.

He was a bit goofy goober on the show. His fake aw shucks persona was exposed by his ex. That aside, and only based on physical attractiveness, he was too good looking for that bunch, except maybe Edith.
