What exactly is a U14 regional pool mean for DCU academy? Basically the kids that got offers that were pulled? All the players they scouted? Anyone have any ideas?

“At the U14 level, D.C. United will introduce a regional pool model, selecting the most promising talent from local youth clubs and bringing them together for once-a-week elite training sessions across four locations throughout the DMV. This structure allows the club to extend its reach while maintaining a close connection to local communities and youth soccer organizations.”
What a joke.
That's how you lose all your top u14 players to other academies. Every MLS academy will be fighting to grab the top young talent in this area. Unless DC is dirty and places all of them on their list.
So in your version of this fantasy, all the families with U14 kids exceptional enough to be MLS Academy quality are going to send their sons to other parts of the country?

I believe his argument was that there are plenty of talent in their own region, why would they take any kids from out of state. Obviously he's clueless, even when plenty of posters provided proof.
In addition to not fully cooperating with DCUA, it seems as local clubs and parents in the know are actively trying to get their players into other clubs instead of DCUA.

I can't tell if you're ignorant or trolling, top kids already have been going to other academy teams. I didn't say all, I said the top kids who the academy is willing to invest in by paying for boarding/food/schooling. Top kids as in, projected to go pro, not the pro/college or college path players.
Where is this database of players from the DMV that at 13, 14, 15 years old are known to be going Pro (Mr Nostradamus) and are all now at other academies across the country?
How high are these massive numbers of kids?
Don't be ridiculous. Why would there be a database of kids from here at other academys? Just because you don't know who they are, means they don't exist? You act like I'm the one picking out these kids, ask the scouts why they pick who they pick.
I believe the phrase is put up or shut up
Spreading rumors because of this obsession gonna give you ulcers

Coaches can and often do act as gatekeepers. Good ones are transparent. Bad ones are not always.
This blows my mind, how does a coach gatekeep? Will they actually not tell a player that an academy is interested? Or tell an academy that a player is not as good as they may think? That just sounds farfetched.
It's about money and keeping players. This happens for sure especially at clubs that don't cooperate with DCU and think they are at the same level. You can guess which clubs those are
