No need to worry, Battlefield made quick work with a running clock, 22-3. Ocean Lakes can be on the beach by sunset if traffic holds...

What are you suggesting they should have done? Postpone because it’s warm in June as would be expected?

You all find something to complain about no matter what.

Girls club lax plays three games a day all summer at tournaments in weather at least this warm--and more humid. Give the girls some credit.

Out of shape parents can't take it, but they can

It would be like say Boston College is not very good as a D1 team just because they lost by 12 to Northwestern. Really good teams lose games too relative to all levels of play.

I am curious to hear why everyone seems to think Robinson and Woodson are Elite teams? Robinson is without their best player (draw) and best defender. Woodson has a couple good players but can't score and won't keep up with Oakton, Madison or Battlefield. The State Final will be Oakton/Madison winner vs Battlefield. Region C is significantly weaker than Region D, so that doesn't fit the narrative of Elite teams.

Robinson is not an elite team. They don't really have any standout players. Sure they have D1 commits but to what D1 schools?

Robinson and Woodson are in the top 5% of Virginia public schools. They will be competitive (probably an underdog) with both Oakton and Madison. All these top teams are at the tip of the iceberg. 90% of the teams are so far down under the surface and can't compete at the highest level. But all these girls and coaches work just as hard too just don't have the pipeline of talent.

Nice iceberg analogy. Same applies to College lacrosse. Maryland, Stoneybrook, Notre Dame and JMU are great examples of Top 10 elite teams that can compete with the best but once you get below the top 15-20 (all they way down to 123) you have fallen below that line.

This is why it’s almost comical when posters talk about a team having D1 commits. It matters who you commit to. Once you get below the top 30 D1 teams the talent level really starts to drop off. And when player commit to teams that are in the 60-123 range, while good players, they are not game changing players for their high schools.

I can see your point if applied to elite private schools but most D1 commits to public schools are top 1, 2, or 3 for their teams. It happens but not very often we get a public player going top 10 or 20 D1. Always enjoy your analysis.

Haymarket = Hades. Seems about right. Only saving grace is an expected running clock in first half.

Wouldn't expect anything less than the incompetence that is VHSL or any league for that matter in the Nova area. NVYLL rivals VHSL

I would guess they having a great time on road trip with their team and families competing for a state title.

More like 93 degrees at Battlefield. But if you are Ocean Lakes, you get go home to the beach tonight win or lose, while Battlefield goes home to Haymarket. So Ocean Lakes is winning either way....

Virginia beach is far from going home to "winning".

Sorry that everyone can’t afford to vacation in Cape Cod or the Islands like yourself. Some people just can’t afford it. But hey, thanks for making sure everyone knows that you look down upon Virginia Beach in your mansion
