The projected roster sizes are:
U13: 20 Players
U14: 20 Players
U15: 20 Players
U16: 22 Players
U17: 22 Players
U18/19: 24 Players
Expect rosters to be bigger than that.

Mclean was pretty open and transparent or so it seemed. The assistant executive director is terrible, he basically got booed off and sat down. Mclean confirmed the timeline and what ECNL told them, agreed that it is a terrible situation but said that there hands were tied--lots of good kids getting left out espeically in recruiting years but ECNL doesn't actually care about the kids. Boys coaching slate is a problem because lack of Mclean coaches who know those kids but they said those coaches chose not to join FVU.
Sinking ship….
And so it begins…here come the wave of negative comments from families leaving that did not receive an offer.
Kids lose and you cheer because your kid got an offer. Karma has a way.
There is no offer or cheering here. It is a tough time for all the families and especially for the kids. I am pointing out that this process is not even close to over yet and people are already bashing their old club on their way out.
Don’t try and walk it back now. You’re blaming complaints as nothing more than the sour grapes of parents of less deserving players than your player.
Classy.
Walking back my response to someone saying “sinking ship…”.
Makes sense.

Yeah, because you’re clearly NOT talking about exclusive, private pay-to-play high school soccer, with its large rosters of pay-to-play ECNL/GA players. Public high school soccer is inclusive so who cares.Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:High School soccer is on a comeback because of total mismanagement by Clubs and Club Leagues. High Schools have struck prioritize HS soccer much the way clubs used to do. This makes kids want to go back to playing for HS teams.
Is there an award for falsehood of the day
You must be a HS coach trying to convince the top players to suit-up for you

Like when SYC went MLSNext in their Alliance they should have done something then (2 years ago) instead they waited around. props to SYC, they had a plan MLS Next and GA and stuck to it.
You can move your kids to SYC

Unfortunately, ECNL is still so coveted they have power. MLSNext and GA/NWSL may hopefully be alternatives down the line. I don’t think a lot of us will forget what ECNL did this year.
Is ECNL really the villain though? They do need to keep up certain things. If a club isn’t meeting those levels then they need to make adjustments. I’m not sure we know when the cllub(s) were notified. And the club(s) decided how to proceed. Is it possible the ECNL said you have another year or two or whatever timeframe to get your teams in order? We don’t have alll the facts.
attended town hall last night. ECNL first approached Brave and MYS at the coaches meeting in January 2024. MYS at least (unclear on Brave) asked for a year to transition so that this could rolled out in a more coherent manner. ECNL essentially said no. It had to be now or else they would not renew membership in April. ECNL guy sounded like a true jerk.
I'm laughing at how many GA parents have been created over the last couple of months.
More like -
Development = commiting to club that puts the skill development of kids first
Anonymous wrote:ECNL should have had a transition period to help the kids who are in recruiting years. They are all about college right? Instead they are crushing college plans
