Yes the really old school coach leather purses back when they were made in the USA. Lots of these at the stuffy Episcopalian church my older relatives attend


This thread sent me back in my closet and I found my old navy Coach purse from high school (!) that I haven't used in so long it still looks pristine. Made for a perfect small cross-body while out and about yesterday. I forgot how well made and perfectly sized it is. (Episcopalian, BTW, but neither terribly old nor rich, and hopefully not too stuffy . . .)


I had the black crossbody with the brass turn lock in high school!

I was going to ask about this! I'm not sure they qualify as "designer" but they are extremely well made. I live on Capitol Hill and see them everywhere-- especially with older woman. I think I'm the youngest to wear them and I'm 50.


Yeah. Not designer but I always thought Brahmin was for older women.


I just looked at their bags and yeah that is definitely something my mom would buy. Can't imagine seeing them on a 30-40 year old woman.

But, hey, I'm not classy - my current rotation is a Rothy's tote, a vintage tote from an old website with a pithy saying on it, and a leather tote I got at Costco because I liked the color scheme.


I have a freebee ESPRIT tote that doesn't say ESPRIT--only I know what it really is. I just found it at at the back of the linen closet when moving and used it to haul all the sweaters/jackets that didn't go with the movers, really glad it was still around.
