According to the website it's $135/month or $1600/year. Can you pay for it out-of-pocket?
I would but they will not let you. I find it odd.
Same. I don’t understand how my insurance can deny me something I never ask them to pay for.
Calibrate charges your insurance for you to get that rate. It’s not the actual cost
I offered to pay out of pocket the full rate. I don’t understand why my insurance is involved. My obgyn doesn’t take insurance. I pay out of pocket. Why can I do that?
If you’re paying OOP just get it from Walgreens for $1500/month. No reason to bother with Calibrate.
But I still need a prescription from someone and my doctor won’t do it.
Are you obese?

No.

If you are Karen who weighs 150 and wants to lose 15 lbs, then no, you don’t need it, you’re not going to get someone to prescribe it to you.
This is false. Insurance companies will routinely deny people who exactly met FDA approved label criteria for Wegovy - by adding on a bunch of bogus additional preauth hoops that weren't in the FDA approval or the original clinical trial. They do this because a) they want to save money by not paying for this in the short term and b) because they can.

Yes, PP doesn’t know what they’re talking about. I am on Ozempic and could not get it covered with a BMI of 40 and metabolic syndrome, though technically not diabetic. I wanted to keep fighting and my doctor was like, look, I can’t get some insurance to cover my patients who are 450 pounds and in danger of losing a foot from diabetes, it’s not going to happen for you.
