It's pretty evident she was supposed to be a big part of things out of the gate and very swiftly was relegated to the background. She doesn't even appear at all in the season one finale, which is a huge cliffhanger with a very serious storyline. And she's never mentioned again.

There's actually a term for when a character vanishes and is never again mentioned. It's referred to as being sent to "Mandyville." Seriously, it's a thing.

Will Ferrell can absolutely be the lead: Anchorman, Elf, Talladega Nights, etc.

And Meryl Streep can absolutely do comedy: Devil Wears Prada, It's Complicated, Adaptation, Death Becomes Her, etc.
