Welp. That's it. Thread done.

Yeah, but at least she looks good.
So top picks so far:
Julia Roberts as Tinker Bell
Hayden Christensen as A. Skywalker
Keanu in any movie other than action roles (Matrix, Speed, Wick) or dumb-s$&t roles (Bill & Ted, Parenthood)
Meryl Streep in non-drama roles
Will Ferrell as the lead (great as a side kick, but never, ever cast him as the lead).
And Kevin Hart, Dustin Hoffman, or Tom Cruise as Jack Reacher.
Anonymous wrote:Speaking of West Wing, Mary Louise Parker was so terrible as the feminist activist. She was great as the clueless narcissist suburban mom on Weeds but her vacant thing just did not work in the west wing role. I worked at a feminist organization for years and knew no one like that. Could have been a great role is it had been played by someone more like Allison Janney that could really bring the sharp strong vibe. Also I never felt like she had any chemistry with josh but I know that’s hard to cast for. I don’t know if they originally intended him to end up with his secretary or whether they just had such good chemistry that the writers did that.

eh, we're derailing a bit, but between you and me re: the awful "Mandy Hampton": I don't like her performance either, but it's hard to know if it was bad casting or the fact the character should not have existed in the first place.
I doubt that a better actress could have made Mandy work out as a character, because Mandy was created to be both a romantic interest for Josh (yes, even as an ex) and to bring some kind of brash outside-the-White-House sensibility to the show. From early on it was clear the character did not click at ALL with the other characters and relationships plus, Sorkin had no idea what her professional role should be (she's kind of got some of C.J.'s press role, some event roles that seem to under Toby's office, etc. Just...useless.).
All that is why you see less and less of Mandy as the first season progresses. It's pretty evident she was supposed to be a big part of things out of the gate and very swiftly was relegated to the background. She doesn't even appear at all in the season one finale, which is a huge cliffhanger with a very serious storyline. And she's never mentioned again.
There's actually a term for when a character vanishes and is never again mentioned. It's referred to as being sent to "Mandyville." Seriously, it's a thing.
Returning the thread to its previously scheduled topic....

The entire Wrinkle In Time cast --- they really screwed that up.
