I’m all for supporting people but not allowing a homeless encampment to be established by my fence. Because it will never go away. They can camp beneath an underpass or on a median - not on a residential corner.
Don't touch their stuff. That's not legal.

I’m not OP but I would not want someone sleeping on my sidewalk. If that’s cool with you, please provide your address and OP can direct them to a more hospitable location.
It's not your sidewalk.
Aren't sidewalks placed on properties through easements? That means the owner still owns the land?
Actually, in DC, quite the opposite. Most of your front yard is probably also public space, but you have an easement (of sorts) over it. The sidewalk is totally public.

Oh good, another person suggesting assault. Really helpful, thanks.
Just a taxpayer watering his garden.
Have fun with an arrest record. Oh, nevermind. You only talk tough on the internet. Sad.

Anonymous wrote:What would you want if you were in that situation? Have you talked to them? Asked them what they need?
I don't see how you expect them to care about what you want if you don't care about what they want. If you're approaching it from and adversarial standpoint you're just using your position of power to prioritize your needs over theirs.

I have seen him heading behind the school at night and heading out in the mid morning to do his rounds and then set up his sign..talking loudly to himself. Hallucinatory? Doesn't seem like the right chemistry to have so many camping by schools, like the sleep + poop field by Wilson High School.
That sounds like the "Demand Peace" guy
I used to see that guy in Woodbridge, but was not familiar with his presence in DC.

Tell that to the city who requires you to shovel it.
