That's because you have no political sense. If I were WTU, I'd be very worried. WTU right now is about as popular in DC as the Proud Boys. This pandemic has convinced a lot of parents that teachers unions are as bad as police unions. If politicians believe WTU is a toxic organization and voters will judge them based on their relationship with WTU, then WTU is fkced. There's a lot more parents than teachers.
Woah, you lie in a delusional bubble. I'm actually shocked....you're nuts. Many high SES white families are upset, some POC but majority of people may be disappointed or still want DL but they do not think of teachers are essentially a terrorist group. If that was the case I'd get a good laugh because if teachers are as bad as racists/murderers then you're ok with you're child being taught by a racist and a murderer.....
"Teachers" =/= the WTU
Yes, obviously the two are linked, but I've come to think that a lot of teachers don't support the WTU (and the charter teachers largely aren't unionized).
Anyone who has been to the clusterF that is a union meeting can attest to this. To think that the WTU is some powerful lobby is some serious cognitive dissonance. The only time they accomplished anything to do with reopening was when they successfully filed their PERB complaint. If you have a problem with an organization trying to protect its members rights from being stomped on, that says more about you than the union.
Additionally, Teachers voted STRONGLY against striking, but that probably doesn’t fit your proud boys terrorists narrative.

I had no opinion of teachers unions before the pandemic. Now, I will vote against any elected official who supports WTU.
Did we have an election? The at large candidate was endorsed by the WTU.
Don’t worry. They will still win. Just like they did this past election
Friend, your political sense is...not good. (And we haven't had any primaries in D.C. since schools closed in August).

You people in upper NW have an entirely different existence than the rest of the city and you prove it on this site every day. You don't know everything and stop blaming worker organizations that are mostly comprised of women of color for your own weird preconceptions and slated view of the world.
so I’m not supposed to care that black kids in SE have dramatically worse access to education than my kid? makes sense.
Well there are better ways to show you care then yelling on this site. Here’s two off the top of my head
1) Send letters to your public officials; they are the ones who make decisions.
2) if your school has a well funded PTA, try and see if there are ways to share that many around the city. Schools WOTP typically have multiple positions funded by PTA that schools in SE can’t afford. Similar with technology.

No this sentiment is only in high SES areas. As we know, lower SES areas predominate DC and DC schools. The WTU may be f**ked there but it isn’t throughout the city. If you can’t see that you have no political sense
