No. I said the exact opposite. I didn't even mention soccer. I said if my kid wanted to study engineering my first choice would be Tech. Period. Regardless of soccer. Furthermore, I'd pay the tuition (after 30% discount in the PP hypothetical scenario) over a free ride to GW.. Avg. starting salary out of Tech is higher, especially for engineers. When you add in the fact that Tech is an ACC school and my kid could play in that conference and get to go to big time college Football and Bball games and get to enjoy a full university experience (vs. that which GW offers), do real, meaningful research projects that make a difference (like Flint water issues), and get to experience the outdoors and nature and beauty of Tech, vs. getting car-jacked in DC, it is a no brainer if you can afford 70% of the tuition (which I can). BTW - you didn't express and opinion, you simply made a non-sensical statement about studying engineering a G'town (which no one said you could do). So while I may be a charmer, you're simply a moron.
Tech would be your first choice for engineering? What about MIT, Stanford, Caltech, CMU, GT?

Anyhow, how many girls have Loudoun, Metro U, VDA, and BRYC combined placed at GW or G’town or VT in the past 4 years? Now compare Arlington, McLean, and FCV. Let’s see the facts. BTW, I dislike FCV, but do acknowledge their track record with a very narrow, selected slice of their female paying customers. The rest of their program is a joke and is used to subsidize a small few coaches that do a nice job for one girls team per older age group. It is a boutique club for top level girls in NOVA. Kind of liking working out at TSJ and paying $20 for a poorly made hamburger is “boutique”. A small set of people will pay for this keeping over the Jones status. CZ knows this and takes advantage of it, but at the same time does the work to help those select few get landed at D1 schools. It is not one or the other. It is both. For most, FCV is a joke, but for the select, rich, privileged few it is worth it.
Track record of Arlington, McClean and FCV parents socioeconomic status going to two private schools and one public school versus others? How asinine.

That's true but compare the composition of players from Arlington playing for Arlington, players from McClean playing for McClean compared to the percentage of Arlington and McClean players at BRYC, for example. Maybe check the IQ scores of the players and their parents, too, while you're at it for the arrogant poster who always assumes everyone but themselves has a low IQ.

You honestly believe that those other clubs are for the poors? ALL the clubs pull from the same affluent NOVA communities.
No, they don’t—even affluence has it’s stratification when it comes to being able to pay the higher education tuition at private institutions. Some players are granted financial support to play, too.
Playing for McLean and living in McLean are two different things.

I think everyone should discount any commit to an IVY or D3. Those schools are not about soccer and all you have to do is show an interest and you can play there. I would also put GTown in this bucket in our area. If you are looking at commits - McLean has a ton of IVYs or D3 because they are most likely legacy or come from wealthy families who very much value those reputations. The soccer team is a consolation prize for the kids.
FCV has connections with only VA Tech and W&M. If you want your kid to play there - then call Christian and let him know.

C. Pick the school that has a bottom tier soccer program (200-300) where she will be a impact player and receives a full scholarship.
And then there is the following matrix:
A. Pick the top soccer program at a school she could have gotten into without soccer and rarely play.
B. Pick Academic school that she might not have gotten into without soccer and play meaningful minutes as a sophomore
C. Pick a prestigious academic school that she never would have been accepted without soccer and be a impact player.
Y’all, check the current rosters of the prestigious academic D1 schools. The players there are top 2 percent players. Your DD needs to be among the best 4 players on her team to even be able to walk on at those prestigious schools, without any $$. Ivys don’t give sports money. The remaining top academic schools will give money to maybe 4 to 7 girls a year, and those girls are verbally committed by the end of their junior years in HS.
