Yes seems like a lot of people are upset about this. Maybe it is time to reevaluate moving away from a system that has worked extremely well to some new radical systems that restricts voting. What happened to conservatives? Pushing for radical changes when no change is needed and requiring state ID/papers to walk down the street. This ID requirement is a very slippery slope to a police state.

Stacey, and crew, cannot lie and call the GA law a "return to Jim Crow" and then say, "oh no, don't boycott us!" when businesses actually believe her.
She really should have considered her words and actions - this is on her too.

Not really. She didn't pass the law. Didn't support the law. And has no position of power here. Lie is your conclusion, not the conclusion of many, many people (and lbh, were you bothered by Trump's lies over the last 4 years?)

Why no required ID to vote for Ronald Reagan, Bill Clinton, GWB, or Nixon? Did JFK need to show an ID when he cast his ballot?

There's zero good reason to show an ID when it wasn't required for the first 230 years of American history.

What's changed that requires us to need an ID to vote? Republicans have never explained this.

The Braves are probably grateful to have something distract from the fact that, despite being a preseason favorite to win the NL East, they’ve started the season 0-4, with their most recent loss to a team that had 11 players in quarantine. Hosting the All-Star Game was going to be the only thing left they had to look forward to this season.

But you didn’t call anything, because you’re parroting right wing lies.

"One could understand a flub in a news conference. But then this same claim popped up in an official presidential statement. Not a single expert we consulted who has studied the law understood why Biden made this claim, as this was the section of law that expanded early voting for many Georgians.

Somehow Biden managed to turn that expansion into a restriction aimed at working people, calling it “among the outrageous parts” of the law. There’s no evidence that is the case. The president earns Four Pinocchios."

And, as a result, the MLB decision was based on lies.

But why would the President deliberately lie and demand that MLB move the all-star game from Georgia? Did he not know this would hurt the Atlanta economy?

You won't get an answer to this from liberals.
He lied for a few reasons. First, he was told to. By Stacey Abrams, Ossoff and Warnock. And, his handlers. Secondly, the Democrats definitely don't want photo id. It will reduce their vote - not by disenfranchising anyone, but by severely reducing fraud. And, lastly - he desperately wants HR1 to pass. What better way than trying to drum up support from his base by lying about the law, calling it "Jim Crow on steroids" and implying that states just can't be responsible enough to pass voting laws. Many people who heard his lies actually believe him.
And, yes, he knew it would negatively impact the Atlanta economy. He doesn't care. He is probably secretly encouraging the MLB to have the game in a deep blue state to help with their economy. This is the "uniter" he said he'd be. Lots of buyer's remorse going on right now between his "less than moderate" positions and his promise to "be a uniter."

Still flogging that fraud story. Despite all of the failed attempts to find it.

The fraud story is just like the Kraken. Everyone "knows" that it happens, they don't need to prove it; they just have to keep repeating that there was tons of fraud and by the 100th iteration or so, it becomes true because "everyone" has said it.

Despite the fact that the only actual reports that were not third, fourth or nth party hearsay are Republicans who were guilty of fraud. But they'll keep trying this because the only way that they can possibly win is by preventing legal voters from voting.

The statistics show that registered Republicans are a shrinking demographic. They have been in a steady decline for the last 16 years. In 2020, the number of Republicans shrunk below the number of Independents for the first time ever. And the events of the last 6 months since the election have continued the flight from the Republican party. This year, after 37 years, I finally could no longer stomach calling myself a Republican and changed my voter registration. I know many like me that can no longer tolerate what the party has become and how they've destroyed the party and platform.

Were there no democrats, democrat media personalities, or democrat celebrities call for a boycott?

Were there no democrats celebrating MLB moving the All Star Game?

If the Georgia law is “Jim crow on steroids”, will the president also be using his bully pulpit against states with more restrictive voting laws?
