I think FCV and Loudoun are both strong clubs that had strong results in a very strong Jeff Cup bracket. 1 goal and all FCV haters want to burn the club down and Loudoun wants to remain the best club ever! Silly to put your kids soccer future into one game.

It's silly to put your kid's soccer future in the trust of a club that leaves ECNL and is desperately trying to get back in.

An 07 or 08 deciding to stay with FCV is taking a leap of faith that FCV gets ECNL next spring or year after, and that, before then, none of the better players at FCV leave for a ECNL team that provides consistent better competition and a better platform for recruiting in a couple years. Let’s face it. The end is near for FCV, but any player departures would accelerate it. As another poster said, FCV’s only hope is to hold off any player departures and hope they get back in ECNL as soon as possible.

Or they are deciding to stay because they are just happy where they're at and the experience and level of competition they face in leagues and in tournaments. Ever consider that?
Can any parent on this forum who has had their kid move to an ECNL team from a non-ECNL club or even from another ECNL team at age 13+ who didn't have an issue with the coaches honestly say they didn't initiate the movement over their kids? I'm curious how many kids initiate the moves even if the coaches are fine v. the parents, and what the reasoning is for moving.

If the coaches aren’t mean people move because they want the status for their kid to be on “top” team. Probably mostly parents but the players also know which are the top teams but of course it doesn’t mean the grass is greener.

Parent most definitely push their kids to move to the best club available. I think the point of the 500 posts is that FCV cannot be that without ecnl and the parents pushing for the best will do that and switch teams. Others that are comfortable at FCV will stay. Many kids stay at NCSL and CCL teams and don’t even consider going to a club in a more competitive league. Nothing wrong with that.

That assumes ECNL teams are all that and many are just not. Look at Jeff Cup results in the U13-14 age groups. There are several flights where ECNL teams lost to non-ECNL/GA teams. The advantages to ECNL and GA are the opportunities to play against other good regional teams in league play or scrimmages and also the national competitions. CCL and ECNL don't offer that. That said, quality coaching is key and in limited supply, including among all the "top" teams and there are strong CCL players who are offered spots on ECNL/GA teams, yet choose to stay with their coach because they know they will develop better as players.

Lmfao.

Let’s see a U15-u18 non ECNL team beat a ECNL team. You’ll learn soon enough.

U13-14 is baby girl soccer. Means nothing.

This is true at this age. At u16 the gap will get larger as the kids mature. But the whole point of the posts is that GA doesn’t offer a competitive league. This leaves metro and fcv only w scrimmages and tournaments to showcase while ecnl has league play plus scrimmages and tournaments.

That’s one 14 year old team. Have you bothered checking where it matters? Above those ages? Prolly not. Lol

Those teams are obviously going to age out. FCV does not offer a large viable player pool moving forward. They have no rec program to speak of and they are more and more relying on recruiting to improve. Leagues prefer clubs with a documented player pool because it demonstrates viability and consistency.

FCV is one coach away from being a shell of itself. One coach leaves and it is over. Don't think it can happen? Look at BRYC. Look at where BRYC was and look at where BRYC is now.

The same can be said with McLean. But Loudoun? They have tremendous stability as a club. FCV does not offer stability, a boys side or even geographic assurance. Will they move to Springfield at some time? Will they stay at Evergreen? Will TSJ want to keep paying rent at Evergreen? Why would ECNL bother with such unpredictability?

No dog in this fight as I have no children but bunch of nephews and nieces that would make la Cosa Nostra look like a tiny speck.

What exactly do you label as tremendous stability? You know like anyone else in this community that were it not for the ECNL patch Loudoun would be 1/3 maybe 1/2 the size.

Having been around since ‘78 sure helps having millions of $ in rec fees but what do you really have to show for? Performance wise and coaching wise you can’t brag too much.

Stability? Is that why the admitted that were an inch away of folding if covid closures had extended into fall season despite them stealing hundreds of thousands of $ on top of asking for half million in loan? I’d love that stability myself too!

Lol. Go figure. She’s watching the wrong team apparently. But I know that’s sales pitch to keep the players from mass exodus. Keeping feeding the parents BS lies that the scouts are watching their kids and they need to stay of track. Lmfao. Fools.

Who cares? She will accept anyone Bobby emails to her. She is only there because her daughter is there. She never actually scouts at all.

The only national level 07 in our area that I’m aware of plays for Metro. Everything else is click bait.
