I seem to recall a few weeks ago all these people were practically bum-rushing state capitol buildings to blast legislators for Covid-19 protocols like (GASP!!) having to wear a mask and not being able to sit shoulder to shoulder with dozens of people in a restaurant during a pandemic. (Oh the horror!!)

But yet I don't see of those folks very vocal or animated in their displeasure of the measly $600 stimulus check legislators decided to give out.

How come?

Has McConnell or Pelosi put the $900 billion current package to the floor for a vote yet? No. Negotiations happen first, agreements move forward, and floor votes at the last second as we're seeing right now.

Step 1: House passes bill (this happened in May)
Step 2: Senate passes bill (this never happened)
Step 3: Houses have a compromise conference
Step 4: Each house approves compromise bill
Step 5: Bill goes to White House

Since the Senate never passed a bill, step 3 never happened.

So why is this Pelosi's fault?

Becayse she's a woman.

I mean...Nancy was ready to sign this on Weds without the $600 until Sanders + Manchin stepped in and said hell no. That’s on top of not taking the $1.9 deal in October.

There was no deal in Oct! That was Mnuchin wishful thinking. He has no power. Trump said he wanted a deal but when has he ever been able to focus on anything for more than a nanosecond?
Please stop thinking that there was ever a deal, there wasn't. McConnel only did this because Kelly and David are getting hammered. I hope Warnock and Ossoff can explain how unless Dems win, that $600 check is the last money Georgians (or Americans) will EVER see.

Hmm Democratic Congressional Reps sure thought it existed.

Representative Max Rose, a New York Democrat, criticized Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi on Tuesday, arguing that she was "making a mistake" by not accepting the White House's latest $1.9 trillion COVID-19 stimulus deal.

Just because Rose said that still doesn’t make it true. I repeat, there was no deal. McConnel held the power to pass a package . Not Pelosi, not Mnuchin not even Trump.

The masses know BOTH sides don't give a rats *ss about working and middle class people.

Uh huh. That's why the GOP wanted a corporate liability shield, and Democrats
did not.

Agree. I know a ton of people making $150k household who lost no income since March, in fact saved on childcare, and received BOTH rounds of stimulus. $150k is a very common/comfortable HHI in middle COL areas. These people don’t need stimulus.

Do you know how much work it would be to means test? Also, if you want to "stimulate the economy" which is the GOP goal not feed hungry people, keep families from going homeless...then giving money to folks who don't need it means they will go out and spend it.

Instead of griping that ton of people making $150k household shouldn't get stimulus, how about we raise taxis on the billionaires? If you are so concerned with wealthy people getting over on the average working folk.

No. More than half of the Americans who received stimulus checks put it into savings or investment accounts last time.

Its far more. They are families with 6-8 kids getting a check for every single one of them.

I personally think this is a waste and the payments should have gone to adults/households only or limited to 2 kids at most.

Yep. Brother makes $150k in a mid COL area, his wife is a SAHM and they have 4 kids. No loss of income. They got $4000 last time and will get $3000 this time. Not picking on them, just an example. The money would have been bette given to someone who actually needed it.

Okay.

And?

Did you just quote a blog based in Arlington vs a Senior CNN Political Correspondent and expect it did something?

Did Mitch put the $1.9B “deal” offered by a non-Senator on the Senate floor for a vote?

Did Pelosi put the $1.9B "deal" offered by a non-Senator on the House floor for a vote?

Not if they're dependents. If their parents claimed them on their taxes, they need to take it up with them because that's who has their check.
