So what. They're silly. The club is no doubt obliged to have a policy as a result of our insane governments (at every level - county, state and federal) who seem to think they are entitled to tell everyone what they can and can't do and bully anyone who stands up to them. If the much more sensible and human coaches ignore them - good. The OP is like someobody running to fetch a cop when he/she sees somebody parked where they shouldn't be - only worse because parking tickets are more morally defensible than this covid tyranny.

I didn't start this. I simply respond to covid hysterics when they try to impose their warped views on everyone. I don't think I will eat glass though - what an unpleasant suggestion to make. I do find that that's a common thread with covid bullies though - they all seem to think it's OK to use physical violence against people who disagree with them.

Actually I'm not - but even if I were that is the response of a disingenuous and manipulative person. Who I voted for matters not one whit to my argument. Disagree with what I'm saying if you like - but that's just attempt to avoid addressing the point.
I'm simply someone who has read a lot of history and philosophy. And I recognize expedience and authoritarianism when I see them. And no - masks aren't terrible in and of themselves - but governments which believe they have the right to force people to wear them, and to close businesses and prevent people from going to church - those types of governments - ones which believe there is no limit to their power and that they rule over people instead of peforming a service for them - those governments usually end up killing a lot of people.

Regarding practices - there was also an email in mid-late January specifically allowing inter-team scrimmages for the last portion of practice, as well as scrimmages against external clubs if desired.
You’re making some assumptions about directors not filling out their forms. Is your coach also a director and not filling out a form? Perhaps they coach multiple teams and already filled one out. TeamSnap has also failed multiple times which I’m sure many of us had seen - I’ve had managers hunt me down to make sure I filled out and had submitted it hours beforehand. The club has been cautious and proactive, as it appears many if not all clubs I’ve heard stories about this winter. I’m sure there are always things to improve, but you’re cherry picking and assuming things that are most certainly not accurate for any of my kids teams, not the teams I see on the fields during the week.
Agree. We have friends at another club that shares fields with SYC (as I’m sure many SYC families do). We have heard their club no longer has the screening available to be completed before practices. It is almost like an honor system there. That said, I am appreciative of the communication from SYC leadership and feel if there are concerns, take it up with the coach or director. Our managers are volunteering their time to help teams operate yet don’t work for or have a voice for the club.
