I guess she shouldn’t be doing hateful things then.
Ok, now go do Mike DeWine in Ohio (also issued lockdown orders), Montana, West Virginia, and Kansas.

Just admit: you hate women.
They are afraid of her.. that she might be the VP pick. If they were so sure of Trump and how he is a stable genius, they would not need to do this. But they are afraid because deep down, they know that most Americans despise Trump. Trump won MI by .3%. MI is a hotspot for covid, and they know that Trump managed this terribly. They have much to fear.
Are you kidding!?!
I WANT her to be the VP nominee!!! I WANT her telling the whole country that they can’t buy a pack of vegetable seeds or buy house paint or go fishing in a boat with a motor!
This is GOLD!!
Even though public sentiment is 2:1 about remaining at home rather than going back to work precipitously?
Those that want to stay home can do so. The world goes on without them
Sorry, this is a PUBLIC health crisis. Your actions affect my health. Whatever we do, we do it together.
Your actions also affect other's health and lives and livelihood. Yet you are comfortable taking that away from others.
So either we go broke or we die. Maybe both, if we open back up prematurely. But you don't care, you just want the old world back, deaths be damned, cause they're all just old people or people with pre-existing conditions.
Your rights end at the tip of your nose. You don't get to tell others what to do. What is prematurely? You don't know and they can't tell you. That's the whole point. Fear is a powerful means of control.
In other words, you just want your old life back, consequences be damned. Right?

You can’t throw the country into a Depression without an adequate plan to protect the people most affected by it. For instance, people have lost their health insurance just when they may need it the most- what is being done for them? I keep reading articles that the economic collapse is “worse” than expected. Really? Who didn’t see this coming??
From the start the coronavirus response has been so haphazard and reactionary.
+1
I've been saying this from the beginning. I think there will be civil unrest as this continues. Especially since clear plans aren't being given as to how and when things will reopen. I understand that we don't know exactly when things can reopen but people who are now jobless, stuck at home, with this economic stress do not care. They will reach a boiling point.

And?
And you are destroying lives to protect Detroit.

Reopen the economy - folks aren't necessarily going to come back at least not 100% of the before times numbers. Maybe 70-80%, and you ain't gonna see mass sporting events for some time, or if they come back, stadiums will be at 25% capacity or something like that. There won't be even up to 90% until we see case and death numbers going down WITH things re-opened AND an effective treatment for folks who
If we start seeing outbreaks in small and medium sized cities that will spook people real fast, and it'll get down to 30-40% of the going out and about, if that.
If we start seeing death tolls in the six figures that's going to have an effect too - cause dead people can't spend and are a drag on the economy.
But in your world it's like the Rapture, we just take a couple hundred thousand people and everything else doesn't skip a beat.
again all I think most logical people are saying is keep social distancing and where masks but let people actually go about their lives more including working to get the economy going again with those two things in place.
I didn't even realize but at least in Virginia it looks like a majority of the outbreaks are at nursing homes so I kind of have to agree, this is what we are shutting down the whole entire state/economy for?!?!?!
So what does your "re-opened economy" look like if you still do social distancing and mask wearing?
Social distancing would imply even if you re-open cinemas and bars, they'd be at like 20-30% capacity. Or stores keeping their limits on capacity - so the lines getting into Wegmans, Costco, etc., would stay in place.
Better than nothing, right?

COVID 19 is going to be the #1 cause of death in the US this week. We are on track for it. Usually it's heart disease.
And heart disease deaths have dropped to almost nothing. What does that tell you?

Reclassification by CDC. Since you all revere CNN, here you go:
(CNN)The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is now counting "probable" cases of coronavirus among its tabulations, according to the agency's website.
The inclusion of such cases will add thousands to the total number of patients and deaths by including people who didn't have a positive test but showed signs of having the virus.
It comes after the Council of State and Territorial Epidemiologists suggested the CDC and state health departments add probable cases.
Previously, the CDC was only counting cases that had been confirmed by them or cases where the agency had yet to confirm a test done by a local or private entity.
That doesn't say or even imply that heart disease deaths have dropped to "almost nothing."
They haven't. They are being reclassified to Covid deaths...
That's because they probably were Covid deaths. Which was written on their death certificates or case files, but not reported to CDC.

Anonymous wrote:I read about the protests. 97% of cases are in Detroit and the immediate 3 metro Detroit counties. If you look at the rest of the state, most counties have less than 100 cases with many counties in the single digits. Detroit hospitals are a dumpster fire to be sure- but to be honest, you wouldn't want to be a patient there on a good day pre-covid. The rest of Michigan isn't like this. I have family in Michigan, several in healthcare (Drs and nurses) in larger cities, but not Detroit. They have said their hospitals are empty. Drs are sitting home because OR is closed, nurses are either laid off or (in the care of UofM) in union and still going to work but with 1/8 the patients they would normally have.
I'm not saying the Governor is wrong, but Michigan does have super strict, possibly the strictest, stipulations to the state wide stay at home order. I think total lock down in Detroit and maybe something slightly modified for the rest of the state could have been equally effective without being so dramatic to all the business over areas that are not showing spread.
