Coming on this board and telling everyone how great your kid and FCV are will not earn your kid a roster spot on a ECNL team.
You obviously have a big chip on your shoulder with the, "I'll show you!" mentality.
Who exactly are you trying to impress?
You don't even know who to direct your anger at. I assure you, the ECNL parents had zero impact on USSF shutting down your precious league.

1. Top Hat (GA)
5. FC Dallas (TX)
8. Legends (CA)
9. Beach (CA)
10. SJ Earthquakes (CA)
16. FC Virginia (VA)
25. NEFC (MA)
26. Sporting Blue Valley (KS)
28. Cincinnati DA (OH)
29. Lonestar (TX)
32. South Shore Select (MA)
35. LA Galaxy (CA)

This is where the parents will start berating coaches and spreading bad rumors about clubs because their superstar kid doesn't make it.
Chemistry on a team is vital to the success of a team, even if the DA kids are better, many coaches will not mess with the chemistry.
Amen. Also stands to reason that of the DA players that might compete to get on an ECNL team, it might not be the ones those parents think -- per PP comment, there are a lot of "top" players who aren't top -- they are just favorites and do get better through being given the opportunity. Maybe fresh eyes benefits the ones who weren't given those chances, and don't have prima donna complexes but just want to be a solid part of a good team.
In this area, DA doesn't equal "top" players for many of the teams due to dillusion. Some teams/some age groups.some players sure, but just because they are on a DA doesn't automatically mean they are elite (and same can be said for the ECNL teams). Too many "top" teams, so the consolidation is what this area desperately needed....
top 15 players on FCV teams 05 and older would start on any Ecnl team in the area except for BRYC 03 and McLean 01/02 - and even those two teams would have room for multiple fcv starters.
Take the top 6 players at FCV and plug them with any of the Top 6 players within the ECNL and you have one powerful team. Except at BRYC any team younger then that 03 team is awful!
So should we expect FCV's top players leaving the club for various ECNL programs? With the demise of DA, ECNL is by far the best platform for college recruitment.
Important to note here that this is a two way street with ecnl staff reaching out to DA players.
-Signed, the parent of the mediocre DA kid
Try again with that top 15, It’s a nice thought though. I will give you this, it does all depends which age group as well as which club. Truly, except for the 03 FCV team all other teams are subpar. Here is a crazy idea, pair your standouts at FCV with the ECNL kids that keep the teams competitive and you have one hell of a team. Who’s the top ECNL team at the 04, 05 and 06 level in the DMV? Ask yourself why? Then ask what you could do to make that team even better. Plug up the holes with the top players from FCV and you no longer have a team that win you have a team that dominates the top platforms within the ECNL because the teams aren’t watered down anymore. There’s a reason why as good as the front line is on the 04FCV team they aren’t winning everything at the top levels. Same goes for 05’s and 06’s however you take the top 06FCV kids and pair them with the top players at VDA and then you have top talent representing you and dominating without weak players on the bench. I am sure the one FCV dad thumping his chest will try to say, but, but, but we are winning. Listen your conference was watered down crap and beating Metro 10-0 isn’t awesome it’s expected. Top 15 will not get spots on the Top ECNL teams in the DMV that will be reserved for your starting 6-7. Keep hope alive though.
05 (FCV) would beat any 05 ECNL team in this area by 5 goals. 04(FCV) would beat any 04 ecnl team in this area by five goals. 03 (FCV) would have tough games against Braddock Road and maybe McLean. 01 (FCV) would be a great game against McLean 01 and throttle any other 01 ECNL team in the area by eight goals.

This brings the mid-Atlantic number of teams per age group to 13. Would make sense to add one more from NOVA, then have a North South division. Basically NC/SC (South) and NOVA/Richmond (North)
Would make even more sense to bring in three northern clubs to make 8 for VA and 8 for NC,SC,GA. And also a lot more $$$ and everyone wins.
GA clubs won't be added to Mid-Atlantic. If anything the South Carolina clubs would joint the Southeast Division.

Ding Ding Ding
This is not happening. You can keep hoping it happens, but, at this point, it is like hoping that US Soccer changes it mind and brings back DA.
You said no more clubs will be added. That didn’t even make it till close of business.
I never said that. I have always said that ECNL would add a couple more teams. Tophat much more likely to get a spot than FCV. Much better program, and helps the SE conference.
There is a reason FCV is staying silent on ECNL. They are not getting it.
I’m sure Tophat is silent too. Yet Charlotte, CHARLOTTE got in before Tophat.
This is more about determining divisions now.
What does Charlotte have that Tophat doesn’t have? A former DA boys side that is also joining ECNL.
What does Arlington have that FCV and Metro don’t have? A former DA boys side that could also join ECNL.
So if the boys new mls league is u15 and u17 maybe it makes more sense(dollar wise ) to join ENCL. MLS boys is two teams per club vs ECNL’s what? pre u12 through u19? Much easier sell to the parents and more money(not that that matters).
