I'm extra confused about Stella's character at this point.

Earlier in the season, I felt like they were heavily hinting that Paul Marks had done something really horrible and of a personal nature to her when they worked together, and that's why they kept showing her looking grim and disturbed but saying nothing about the deal.

And then in the episode about the upfront, it seemed like her drinks with the ad guys was meant to be particularly upsetting to her because she'd been thinking about whatever happened with Paul, so she was extra bothered by the sexism and power dynamics at that meeting, and the fact that Cory kind of forced her into it.

But now it comes out that the issue was that she feels he stole (or at least vastly underpaid for) her idea and then used it to do something she finds offensive (racial profiling). Which, don't get me wrong, I think is a valid reason to dislike someone and not want to work with them again. But they are saying she was so upset she was suicidal. And again the way they filmed her earlier in the season made it seem like the issue was more personal than that (like he'd assaulted her, or forced her personally to do something really unethical). Not a dispute over IP.

And then Paul does one interview where he expresses remorse, and then tells Stella she's going to get Cory's job, and suddenly she's smiling to herself like it's all working out. What? They made it seem like she was really emotionally upset by her history with him.

It just doesn't add up.

I don't remember season one with perfect recall, but I feel like they would often/sometimes make a point of how in order to throw a party or go out to dinner or whatever, they either had to do it on a Friday or Saturday, or take the next day off. Like I feel like there were at least a couple occasions where there was some big event planned and it had to be scheduled around their ridiculous hours because they can't socialize like most TV people do in NYC, which would normally be a lot of late nights because of the culture of the industry and also the culture of media.

I just started watching this show, and it is driving me crazy that they make a huge deal out of everyone waking up at 3:30am every day, and yet they seem to be doing all of this stuff in the evening or at night.
They are going to parties, having drinks, meeting up, going through the schedule, JA keeps taking walks in the rain…all at night.

Shouldn’t they meet up for drinks, backstabbing, and subtle intrigue at, like, 4pm because they all have to be in bed by 7:30?

I feel so badly for his previous table, though - that table wasted its best years with him

But that is like 95% just that when Jon Hamm is charming, he could have chemistry with a kitchen table. I'd be like "oh wow, this plot line about Jon Hamm banging the kitchen table makes no sense whatsoever, but I find it believable anyway -- the table seems very drawn to him."

I thought a substantial amount of time passed from when she texts him about leaving her bracelet there and then when Bradley sees the bracelet at his house, which would indicate he'd ghosted the realtor without returning her bracelet (which is a major d**k move because that's an expensive bracelet and no way is she as rich as he is).

It almost felt like they were implying that he left the bracelet in the bowl on purpose, like he hoped Bradley would show up one day and see it? I mean that would be insane but the fixation on the bracelet, and his decision to throw it away after (like it had served its purpose) sort of makes it seem that way.

Yes totally agree with all of this.

I don’t think he cared if Bradley saw it. I think he threw it away so others would not see it. Probably forgot all about it until Bradley showed up. Or maybe the real estate agent caught COVID and died so he couldn’t return it.

The show really never did too much to show those who couldn’t afford to quarantine excoriated for the nurse scene Alex did interviews.
