FCV has an exceptional DA coaching staff. You can look it up.
But Christian is a one of a kind coach. I hope he doesn't leave.
You're joking right? Not a single developer in the club, DA or otherwise.
Well, we'll have to agree to disagree.
DD loves working with Coach Marvin. Lighthearted but technical approach. Best staff coach there, rest we've had have been mediocre at best.
My DD loves Marvin as well as Gus & Christian.
As long as your kid's a favorite, Gus is great. Wish there was a strong female Non-DA coach for my DD but most area clubs seem to be lacking that.
I thought FCV had a few. I am not sure how strong they are.

Social media posts would have steered you in a different direction? Really?
I wish I knew the plan was to gradually move practices to Springfield before joining. It would have only needed to come out a few days before, actually.
They will stay at Evergreen for much of this year. When the weather turns certainly expect DA practices to be in the field house if Evergreen is snow covered. Spring may see a gradual move but by this time next year the DA teams will likely be in Springfield no less than 2 practices a week.
This just isn’t true. Unless you are one of a couple people, you don’t know what is going on. This is 100% not factual. They may start moving over, but nobody outside of a couple knows what will hapen.
If Evergreen is covered in snow they will shift to TSJ. Why wouldn't they?
I would bet my life that by this time next year, no less than 50% of DA practices will be in Springfield.
They'll simply transition NPL teams to Evergreen to finish out the lease.
Ownership is in Springfield and having the DA out at Evergreen is costing them money. Every DA practice held in Evergreen is one less field house rental or basketball court rental for futsal etc...
The gym makes money through memberships and on site concessions. So, you may or may not end up full time in Springfield but that membership fee will be built into your team fees as if you were a gym member whether you use the facility or not.
Last year they plowed Evergreen if it was snow covered and the girls played.
I wouldn't bet your life on anything if I were you.
We'll see what happens with fees. No change this year so your 'built in membership fee' is bunk!
Of course there was no change in fees this year because offers went out well before the sale was announced. The NPL teams are not really affected because their not the target teams to move down to the St James.
The St James purchased FCV DA (FCV is for profit) to make money. FCV Ashburn, United what ever you want to call it are non-profit and as such they are safe at Bles and wherever. The DA teams, in time will be moved to Springfield.
A good gauge to see if prices will increase next year would be to see if there are any price changes form last year to this year regarding extra club programs like extra training or futsal etc. If those extra club programs have gone up in price this year it will be safe bet that price hikes will be coming to travel programs next year, particularly DA.
No changes. Futsal is and has always been separate.
Futsal is a separate program but it is still run by FCV. The question still stands, assuming the same relationship with the club have the prices of FCV futsal remained the same as last year?
Don't know until later on in the season. Different prices come out for DA players.

When FCV was in the ECNL, the older teams faced off with Richmond at about that same level. The 03s and 04s are historically strong teams for them. I was a bit surprised Richmond's 05s didn't perform better actually, which suggests if anything, Richmond is weakening.
Why would Richmond be weakening? Their player pool is the same and they have no local clubs to really compete against for players.
They aren't facing the same level of competition they used to, so their players may not be getting that same development.
Ummm, OK, and FCV is?
They have more opportunities. Richmond used to play Ohio, Maryland United Bethesda, NC Courage's A team (they now play their B team), Charlotte Soccer Academy. Instead they have Loudoun, VDA Wilmington Hammerhead, NC Fusion (which was always average), McLean (which has taken some losses at the younger ages between Arlington and Metro).
FCV plays Penn Fusion, Tophat, Cedar Stars (which at the younger ages has pulled some PDA players), FC Fury, Charlotte Soccer Academy, Ohio, and so forth. So yeah, they are getting better opportunities.
You left out all the weak teams they play too. We get it. Fcv is the greatest. GDA is the greatest. It was just a preseason game for fcv to experiment try new ideas but for Richmond it was the World Cup and a reflection of their program, league, region, and grass fields.

True, it's more like 11 months. I was including Christmas break, etc.
