Maybe not everyone sends their kid to a private school to get into a high-end college. Maybe they are looking for some of the advantages that a private school can offer their kid that their public school cannot offer. Maybe they think that's worth the investment and they can afford it. Private schools don't have to be just for the academically advanced.

Most schools have a huge range of college acceptances. Harvard and Yale are only taking so many kids per grade/class/school.

What an elitist attitude. Some just want their kids to be happy, whether that’s Montgomery College, a state school, or Harvard.

I think everyone is well aware of the issues. However, there are families there that stay because of how happy their kids are and the quality of the teachers. Thankfully Boarman is leaving and they can start to turn their reputation around.
I respectfully disagree, I think people aren't really aware of the just how big the issues are at Bullis. There seems to be an inside joke that everyone understands about it being new money and the public you pay for, which has always seemed silly and trite to me. The deep-seated issues that will really affect your kids (like the financial mismanagement enabled by "cozy" relationships at the head or the really gross bullying problem or the rampant drug problems in the Upper School including using in the classroom or the self-segregation among kids and families or the unhappy teachers) haven't really been mentioned in the retained comments here.
Bullying, unhappy teachers and drug use are at every high school.
Even the magical private schools where all the families are warm and welcoming and all the children are above average?
Its worse at those schools.
Every public and private has all those issues and more. I don't get the constant comments about new money. A lot of old money is long gone as families have wasted it. At every school there is self-segregation amount everyone.. I don't know what unicorn of a school they found where that doesn't happen in less they are the ring leaders and don't recognize they are doing it.
