In many places the patriarchy is old rich black guys.

You are anti-white if you target just a group based on their race, while ignoring the others.

Please look at the current members of Congress. How well does it represent the citizens of the US in terms of gender, race, and heritage?

50.8% women?
13% black?
18% Hispanic?

If not, there are more old, white guys who need to be kicked to the curb.

+1.

Dems spent decades being the anti-black party, and now are the anti-white party.

Must be a habit of mind.

You must be joking.

1) Deregulation and corporate tax reform to get the economy growing at 3% and delivering more and better jobs for everyone in the private sector (like, what, 100 million people?)

2) Getting rid of the crazy "Dear Colleague" regulations concerning rape in college campuses that stole the presumption of innocence and essential safeguards from over a million students...because they were male.

3) New laws favoring generic drugs to lower drug prices

You can also argue than a stronger military and the "new NAFTA" are going to help many people.

And the list continues.

LOL. Yes, let’s help the rapey frat bros. They really need help.

I see you have learned from Goebbels how to label, scapegoat, dehumanize and defame others.

I can't believe the PPs that think men need MORE protection after years and years and years of women not being taken seriously when they have tried to report rape, assault and harassment.

Finally calling men to the carpet for bad behavior is not labeling, not scapegoating, not dehumanizing, and not defaming. It's called justice.

I suspect the men who are so up in arms about recent events have reason to be scared. Times up scumbags.

Let us know how you feel about that when your husband, son, brother, father, or friend is falsely accused and no one is interested in hearing his side of the story. Look, it's clear you hate all men and want to see them burn in hell whether or not they committed any crime, but thankfully, civilized society is onto nutcases like you. Due process will be afforded to ALL. Sorry to disappoint you and your fever dream of revenge.

I am the PP you quoted. I haven't taken part in any of the previous responses to your post.

When I see a response like yours, it is difficult to believe it is genuine and not the work of a troll. It is difficult to take it or you seriously when it would indicate you lack any common sense or basic abilities to comprehend what you read. It is difficult to understand why you would think and respond the way you do when it flies in the face of everything that is known about harassment and assault cases against women. Our justice system already has many protections in place for any person who is accused of a crime.

I am a wife, a mother, a sister, a daughter. I am a friend to men AND women. The chances that the wonderful men in my life will be falsely accused is very, very low. On the other hand, the chances that the wonderful women in my life will have already or in the future experience harassment, assault or even rape, not to mention other negative effects of sexism that are very much present in our society, is astronomically higher. If you are truly and honestly more concerned about the men in your life being falsely accused of a sexual crime than you are for justice for the women who actually experience sexual crimes, then I fear you are a friend to no one.

NP. Thank goodness for DeVos’ reforms which are, on balance, reasonable. Yes, the chances are very small that sons will be falsely accused. But there’s a chance nonetheless. And virtually any privileged mommy here would spare no cost or leave any stone unturned if her snowflake son convincingly maintained his innocence. White women of privilege should also be advocates for minoriity men who are falsely accused.

Did you read all of the victim protections she removed? You are disgusting.

No, I don't. But the PP I responded to seems to care how people react to his/her being a former Republican. My point was that not all people are hung up on whether or not someone is a Republican. For many, it is more about difficulty understanding support of the current administration.

If you don't care, you can opt out of this thread instead of wasting space.

I see. You read a response you don't like and consider it the work of a "troll." Gee, where have we heard that before? Oh, right! Every single day on DCUM.

Yes, sexual crimes are real and absolutely to be taken seriously. But I will never choose to live my life as a victim, cowering in fear of what could happen.

The wonderful women in *my* life don't consider themselves "victims." I'm sorry that yours (and you, of course) do. We don't feel that every man is out to get us or that our lives are eminently threatened every time we walk out the door. It must be very distressing to live like that, and I'm sorry for you.

Are you the "friend to men"? You realize in your effort to sound all brave and such you just made my point for me, right? You choose not to cower in fear of what could happen? Then why are you cowering in fear over the possibility that a man in your life *could* be falsely accused of a crime? That is MUCH less likely to happen then that you, as a woman, could be the victim of harassment/assault/rape. (I hope to God you never have been and never will be.) Yet here you are worrying about something statistically far less likely to happen if you are worried about the men in your life. You can't have it both ways. You are trying to sound clever, but you make no sense at all. This is the reason these "defend the men" posts seem trolly to me; not because I don't agree with them, but because they are nonsensical and seem purposely over the top in order to trigger a response.

Men should be protected under the law absolutely; I have never said otherwise. They are already amply protected in these cases and history is on my side with this one. Women need to be equally protected. Apparently, you don't feel that way, and you are bizarrely smug about it. You make my skin crawl.

My post is sincere. I think the modern GOP is basically evil so I am having a hard time understanding how someone can still be a Republican if they are a decent person.

OP, you can't believe it because you have fallen for every stereotype of a Republican there is. In truth, Republican voters want many of the same things that the Democrat voters do, they just disagree on how to go about it. Republicans do not want to take away people's health care. They want smart solutions that do not involve the fed government bloat and red tape running it, making it more complicated, and then using it to grant political favors similar to the way the tax code is used. Personally, I believe each state should be given fed funds to be used to provide health care that suits their citizenry rather than the central gov running it. IMO, keeping the money closer to the people who need subsidized healthcare means that more of that money actually gets to those people and less of it goes to bureaucratic fat cats. You do know the tax cuts included many working class people, right? They do not JUST benefit the super rich. Tainting the Supreme Court with partisan operatives. The democrats on the court vote lock step on the major issues. Roberts sided with Obamacare, even rewording parts so that it would pass. Kennedy was a swing voter. Most Republicans believe the Democratic wing of the court consists of the partisan operatives. They never break ranks.

The news repeats that Republicans want to starve your children, poison your air and water, are racist, homophobic, evil, uncaring, unkind people. I think if you actually got to know all types of people and actually listened to their opinions, you might have a more well-rounded view. The fact that you accidentally made friends with a Republican speaks volumes about how much you get outside your bubble.

Well said. I would also add that OP does not seem at all bright.

Nope, sorry. But I am a mom to both boys and girls and appreciate knowing that all of them would be afforded due process if accused of any crime. I’m sure your daughters will be disappointed to learn that you hate women so much.

My DD is 100% more likely to be paid less, sexually harassed, and treated differently by society.
My DD is far more likely to be assaulted, groped, or raped, than your son is to be falsely accused.

I knew 1000 Kavanaughs in college and law school. He did it. You know he did it (prior PP). You have the ability to say "we don't know all the facts" because all the facts were not investigated.

Wow, please learn how to post once - we don’t need to read your nutty conspiracy theories three times. Or even once, for that matter.

Eff you.

You're a very angry person, aren't you? Kind of pathetic.

You do realize that if anyone had knowledge of him “doing it,” they didn’t have to wait for an investigation to come forward, right? That they could easily have gone straight to the press, done interviews, made public what they knew, correct? Has anyone done so? Nope. And liars like Swetnick don’t count, sorry.

So you can claim “he did it” until your head explodes, but the facts are against you. It’s sad that you’re still peddling a false narrative because you have nothing of substance to fall back on. Sad and disgusting.

Nah. I can read his testimony, watch his testimony, and judge his credibility. All of those things would come into play in litigation and would be used to reach a decision. So, my "nothing to fall back on" are all the same things that would be relied upon in court. And his little tantrum would have buried him in front of a jury. I've tried many cases involving guys like him over the years. My instincts are pretty good.

You're cherry-picking the facts in your little recitation above, btw. And, you don't get to judge what counts and what doesn't.

OMG... the irony. You clearly don't have a good grasp of it. Your entire post should be directed to you, you complete and utter moron. And your "instincts"? Horrible. I truly feel sorry for your "clients."
