I agree. Elite is a for profit organization.

I don’t think all Clubs do Tournaments, though.

The flip side of all that is that when non-profit youth clubs host tournaments the profit goes into their operating expenses to fund staff, training, equipment, field improvements, etc.,... all of which offsets costs for the players.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but if Elite Tournaments is just a private company, doesn't that mean that their tournament profits are just that -- profits?

Elite Tournament’s only function is to do tournaments so they have to be better than Soccer Clubs that does it as a part time function.

They should take over all the local tournaments of BSC and other clubs continues to falter.

They should get email addresses for all Bethesda Tournment teams and email blast them. LOL

Our entry fees are competitive to other tournaments in the DC Metro area, and we work hard to deconflict as many coaching conflicts as possible.

Elite Tournaments wants to give teams peace of mind when traveling and playing in our events by giving them the best experience possible. We want you to only worry about is coaching your team.

Exactly.. they'll purchase event insurance & increase fee. In the past, Jeff Cup & EDP Showcase both had to cancel due to snow, heavy rain etc, they carry insurance and their team fee is a little less than Bethesda's current without insurance.

All U16-19 teams received this email a month later on 12/21. A $300 credit from $1385 toward next year is insulting. Wouldn't be surprised if they purchase insurance they will increase their events fee.

Same experience for our club - Paid $1350 and got NO REFUND even though we didn't play a single game. Pretty sure our club is boycotting this event CLUB WIDE next year - outrageous. These guys are thieves.

It does suck. Unfortunately as a collective we don’t care about older players as much as we do the younger ones, because there’s not as much money in it. Even though we should. Glad our boys didn’t go to this tournament and were still able to play. But all of this was over a month ago, this isn’t exactly the best medium where you can do anything about it.

The age group coordinators were completely blindsided by the cancellation when it rolled out. Some coaches made calls to local colleges to get someone there to watch. They are not answering email inquiries directly and only send out generic emails that they did the best they could. The latest bone they are throwing is a 300 credit do next year. Too many tournament organizers get greedy, take the cash, but don't deliver and then they can't understand why people are upset.

The tournaments need to be partnerships --- if no clubs attend, then there is no tournament.
