Failure to Thrive would be my guess.

I'm not really a baby fan, but I thought the scene was sweet.

I was so afraid that the Handmaiden was going to throw herself out the window with baby Angela/Charlotte!

Yes. They are letters from other Handmaid’s and Martha’s who are trying to get word to their family members in Canada.

I took that scene to mean that Eden can’t read. Since she’s so young, she was never taught. Although I guess that Gilead hasn’t been around that long? Anyway, even if she couldn’t or didn’t read them, she’d know they were suspicious. And since she’s so miserable, she’s a huge risk to Nick. I did find it a little suspect that he would have them hidden so poorly .

She can read. I believe she didn't read them though, since she's a little automaton trained to respect and listen to her husband. Unless she turns on him because he's a non-believer and traitor to Gilead. He needs to be careful, but doesn't realize it. I think another issue is that monster Waterford will decide he likes her, too.

I'm pretty sure she won't betray her husband and Gilead, even if she is tempted. Remember she is one of the architects of this world, even if she has suffered in its execution.

Yes, but I think she will take the deal. I'm not sure she was ever beaten before. Right now she is embarrassed and sad, but soon she will be pissed.

What deal?

It’s in the preview for next week so I don’t want to spoil it.

How do you all watch next week preview?

They’re always under clips on the series page on Hulu.

I liked the janine storyline. The skin to skin contact is natural. And it shows how much humanity has been lost in this new society.

I don’t know about never been beaten before— she seemed to know exactly what she was expected to do.

Yep.
