Get a grip. Lots of people are dealing with uncertainty about schools. I know a bunch of folks who are sitting on waiting lists, and probably won't know until late summer which school their kid will attend. That's a lot more uncertainty than you're facing, and they're whining about it a lot less than you are.

They could easily say: the factors influencing the decision as to whether we can move for Fall 2018 are X, Y and Z. We anticipate having clarity as to those factors on _____ date.

This is only four months away, people. They are talking about maybe moving FOUR MILES across the city, which adds at least 30 min EACH WAY to many families’ commute time. This is after the administration told families that there was no way they would be in the new building in Fall 2018. Now they are saying “maybe” we will be there, and we can’t yet tell you even WHEN in the next four months you will know where your child will be attending school.

Is it truly that hard to understand why that might be a problem?

Got it- the Kingsbury move is a way to ensure poor families peel off. Ok ok got it.

Sorry, not sorry. There are a ton of parents in this city who would kill to get their kids into LAMB -- no matter where it is -- because right now their kids are stuck in cr*ppy schools. So I have zero patience for whiners whose kids get to attend an excellent school, but who have to put up with a little bit of uncertainty about exactly where that school will be located.

This is shockingly obtuse. What if people can’t make it across town because they can’t afford to do so? Or are single moms and can’t leave work at 4 to make it to lamb to pick up their kids on time before aftercare closes at 6? People need time to make plans. The board is ignoring people like my family who can’t afford a last minute shock. Is everyone on the Board super wealthy or something!?! Don’t they understand the level of trauma this is causing my and many other families???

Most people in the LAMB community -- and on the Board -- are pretty affluent and probably don't understand.

They said we were staying at South Dakota and now that is up in the air. So that is why people are upset.

Yes. They shouldn't have said that if there were a chance it might change. But it doesn't mean they should compound that mistake either.

The move is across town for some people. So it means that if we don’t find a way to get there, we will be stuck going to as you put it, “a truly crappy school”. Not all of us can move or pay money to get there.
