Wow. I loved it there.
No. You liked the Ritz Carlton Resort.
One block away and everything was ugliness and blight.

Cape Cod
San Diego
Florence
Dublin (but loved the rest of Ireland)
Key West
Atlantis
Jesus. I disagree heartily with most of your list.
Me too. I wonder what the PP does like for vacation.
+3
Just OBX. Nowhere else. LOL.
+4 I haven't been to Atlantis but I really like the rest of the places on this list. Dublin isn't my favorite part of Ireland but it's still awesome for The Craic.

They are all underwhelming
Cape cod? Martha’s Vineyard? Boston? You weren’t going to the right places in those locations.
I agree with Cape Cod and MV.
You should have taken the extra effort to go to Nantucket. An altogether different experience.

Anonymous wrote:20 years ago as part of a college geology class I spent 3 weeks traveling in Baja California - mostly camping with occasional budget hotels. We didn’t get south of La Paz (so no Cabo). Various campgrounds that were open 4 years earlier according to the professor who did the trip regularly were closed because the water table was depleated/ salinated. We went to swim at a reef and it was mostly dying and we later learned it was because RVs weren’t limited in sewage discharge near by (gross!!!). I saw extreme poverty (children begging, homes made of tires), a marriage notice at a church where the bride was 15, and a dog hit by a car who was left in the street. The few times we went to towns and went out at night the men seemed very aggressive. I found a lot of the trip sad, but eye opening. We are also low budget so no nice meals or hotels. I suspect I’d have a very different opinion of Baja California if I had flown in and out of Cabo or seen only tourist sites, but the countryside and rural areas made me not want to go back.
