Most people don’t allow their DC to apply ED unless they can pay tuition.

You sound like my friend...but he doesn't want his wife to work, has a big house, takes fancy vacations while we are a two parent working family, modest house and cheap vacations.

For what it is worth, my son's first choice releases admission and aid packages together, one night next week. He will know by the following morning.

Listen to all the rich parents for whom getting in is the only hurdle! The vast majority of families have to wait and see what kind of money they will get. Most kids don't get to go to the best college they get into.

Admitted to Washington University in St. Louis, ED. She is THRILLED...as are we. We were all waiting with bated breath because it was the one school she got that "feeling". Wants to study political science.

Maybe they wanted to go to a school that specialized in their desired major eg for comp sci, maybe they wanted a place like Carnegie Mellon more than Harvard.


possibly MIT, but I doubt it.
