Didn’t read most of the responses. While this would concern me, I would not hugely jump to conclusions.

Are you sure you never used condoms briefly or considered them at all- like after the birth of one of your kids etc. We did, for a time- and those years were such a blur.

Otherwise a buddy who stashed it in there or something- who knows. Gag gift from work, or some type of joke thing or gag at a bachelor party, or even it fell out of a buddy’s pocket and he flung it in there quickly without thinking. I could see some scenarios.

Don’t get me wrong- I’m not naive and it would concern me yes. But I wouldn’t automatically accuse my otherwise trustworthy DH of cheating based on this alone.

Personally I’d ask - just show it to him, and casually ask him in a lighthearted tone with a little laugh. See what he says. If there is an immediate story/excuse I’d tend to believe him. If he says he has no idea or hesitates etc I’d be much more wary- probably guilty. But you know your DH best.

Look at the expiration date on the condom. Maybe it's a leftover from his past..

My DH is actually a painter. He's never heard of the condom / paint connection. And, it makes no sense unless there's such a thing as elephant condoms which would have to be thicker and bigger than human condoms.

He might not have cheated yet, but he is obviously prepared to cheat.

It's possible it was a habit from his pre marriage days he carried over to now, but I also found condoms under my ex-boyfriends car seat when I went to adjust it, and he was a known cheater. He spun some yarn about his friend using his car to cheat on his fiance. So your dh may tell you it's nothing or an old habit or "for a friend" if you confront him.

I would leave it in there and check on it from time to time without saying anything. Maybe even take a picture in the glove compartment for proof.

So condoms apparently are usually good for 5 years, so he bought that in 2011. It could've been before you were married or dating, depending on how long you were dating before you got married.

The real question is whether you use condoms during sex or have ever had sex in that car. If the answers to those questions is no, then he probably was cheating during that time.

Obviously he was having sex with someone, at least protected. One of my friends husband would go to work a little early and stop at the AP's house. He'd leave work a little early unknown to his wife and see the AP. This went on for a year. He didn't change his routine. If I recall she noticed he was listening to silly love songs on the computer. Not the usual variety, but it was enough where she started looking at his phone and location. It's always a shock when someone betrays you.

It may not matter now if your husband has passed. I'd probably still check on his location history because a close friend will cover for him. I guess I would want to know who I was really married to. It's amazing how many people live secret lives.
