wow...this is NOTHING a therapist could fix because its not a mental health problem! wtf is wrong with you?
It is though. It is categorized as a dysphoria. Other dysphorias (body, limb etc) are treated with medication and intensive therapy with a great deal of success. Because the transgender issue was grouped in with LGBT issues it became something that had to be tolerated and accepted, instead of treated.
I am not the PP and I would never say things like "Gross. Sick. Wrong." I also don't care how people dress or present themselves, if they want to call themselves Caitlyn when their name is Bruce or Prince Vlad and wear fangs when their name is Frank. I do feel though we are treating gender dysphoria incorrectly.
Well, every transgender person I've read about (quite a lot) and known (three) went through years and years of intensive but unsuccessful therapy because therapy was never going to change the reality that for them, they were in the wrong body. What do you propose they do, when it seems to me that transitioning actually solves their mental anguish. Yes, I get it creates discomfort for others, but it solves their problem. Are you suggesting that they should be treated in a way that makes it easier for you?

She did not change her sex; she changed her gender. Do you know the difference?
Evidently, the answer is no.
Why is it "disturbing" for children for someone to choose to be happier and true to themselves, while doing no harm to anyone? Do you not think it's more disturbing to suffer?
He/she (whatever gender this person is) can choose to be happier keeping a low profile. The big promotion is disgusting and disturbing for many families who have children.
Caitlyn's gender is "she," as a woman. There is no "he" or "he/she." She is a she. The ignorance by people like you over issues concerning gender/transgender/sexuality is disgusting and disturbing for many families who have children.
NP who has no issue with LGBT
Who became the pronoun police? Caitlyn is still a male. She can dress herself up all she wants, still a male. Males use "he" pronouns so some people will still use them. Not ignorant, not disgusting, not disturbing. Simple language. Differing opinion.
You can do whatever you want with your life but you cannot expect the world to grind to a halt and accommodate you.
You realize the "T" in LGBT stands for transgender, right? So actually you clearly do have an issue with LGBT and are very transphobic. You are not an ally.
Of course I do and trust me I'm an ally.
Spit take..... NP here. You are the antithesis of an ally if you refer to "pronoun police" and refer to a transgender woman as still a male. That's the very definition of NOT AN ALLY.
Biologically her sex is male. Her gender is female. I was pointing out that being the pronoun police does nothing to garner tolerance as some people will still see her as male - which biologically she is. Remember sex is different from gender. So ... whatever you want to believe about me is fine but you are wrong.
NP. Interesting. So where does the pronoun come into play anymore? Trying to think of when we use pronoun re: sex but not necessarily gender ....

You can jump up and down all you want, but I'm still calling him Bruce Jenner (and "him."). Go ahead and come back with any smarmy retort you wish, but it's not going to change how many of us feel and speak about this non-issue.

Maybe the poster is a supporter and ally of LGB, but not T. I really don't think you have to be a supporter of T, especially if you believe it to be a mental illness.
