I agree with you. I have no idea what fuels the hate by Jeff and other DCUM posters, who admit they were not even there, against those who were actually visiting the zoo or live by it. Jeff telling people to get Valium as a solution to this problem is about as low as you can go.

I doubt any witness or resident would disagree with OP. Didn't you read the post from the poor guy working the coffee shop across the street? If this event is allowed next year, he'd preferer the loss of income and close, rather than risk getting hurt, or worse.
+1. Jeff was so obsessed yesterday with who is in the zoo vs who is out that he deleted completely fine posts by people out of the zoo...and the "funny" thing is that the shooting took place right outside of the zoo! This was an example of arbitrary decisions by an often benevolent dictator.
Bullshit. Describe one "completely fine post" that I deleted. Plenty of posters could use a class in remedial reading comprehension as well. I went back to read my message to see if I had mistyped because there seemed to be such confusion. It seemed fine to me. Basically, don't write about things that you don't know about. Misinformation doesn't help anyone.
Bullshit is what you are doing, abusing the trust people have in you. In yesterday's thread someone started complaining that some posts were being deleted, and suddenly even the complaints dissapeared.
I described what my kid and I had experienced, including a helicopter on top, sirens, people running out, and that dissapeared too. You were not trying to protect civility. You were trying to bias the reporting of a story by censoring out actual Woodley neighbors and promoting your own views. Where were you exactly when the shooting took place?
Another deranged poster?
Yes, of course. I think that is the OP of this thread. You can't get much more deranged than that. On top of it all, that poster's post was never removed:

Have you not read the topic of this thread? Let me remind you, the topic is: "Jeff may have blood in his hands if there is another zoo shooting next year". Do you not think that only a deranged person would create such a thread? Why would you take anything such a person has to say seriously? Given your willingness to stand by that poster, why should we take anything you have to say seriously?
I did some research. The Wash Times and CBS both describes scenes like the poster you feel lied did. Chaotic, people running, some hitting the ground to protect their kids, cops running towards the scene. The police said the shootings took place very close to the entrance to the zoo. Pathetic police also stated they had prior knowledge of gangs planning to be there, potentially to fight.
I've been following this thread and got the impression that you felt the OP and others in the zoo thread were being racist. They were not. It's unfortunate gang activity spoiled the day, by put they are responsible for what went down.
The OP is not deranged. He/she is angry at being singled out and vilified. But I guess Cass Sunstein would be proud

Please explain what it is that I did that you thing was so terrible. Do you honestly believe that a poster stating things that were factually not true is helpful to a discussion? You are doing nothing to suggest that the poster who described you as "deranged" was wrong.
I believe that every time we see a post with incorrect information, we have the option of correcting it, with or without supporting evidence. Hence, the mommy fight site. If you will now delete posts that we think have incorrect information, you deny interested posters the opportunity to debate opposing opinions. This should reduce traffic. Not sure if that's a goal.
Why would I care how some random poster wishes to describe me? I simply don't.
