“Myself” used instead of “me” - eg, “Come talk to Ann or myself.”

Even worse, Myself used as the subject in place of "I".

When people use myself it always sounds pretentious. Just say me!

I don't usually see myself being used as the subject, but I hear so many people using "I" instead of me like they are afraid of using the objective case of pronouns incorrectly. They err when trying not to err.

They know that "me and Lolette" is wrong but don't understand why. "Lolette and myself" sounds more pretentious, so it must be correct.

"Modalities," especially when used within the context of spirituality:

"You can accesses your divine self via transcendental meditation, yoga, or other modalities."

"Tanner Ewan! Please put that back."

Haha I didn't realize until I read this that this also annoys me, and had never thought about why parents do this but this is totally why.

There's a seemingly new kind of parent who is overly obsessed with naming and really into the names they picked and critiquing or admiring other people's kids names. I have encountered it online and occasionally in person. These are 100% the people yelling "Roxanna Marie!" at the playground.

In my experience, those parents are yelling names like Ryder, Chase, or Blaze.

Oh man...I do this and didn't realize how it comes off. Does it apply even if your kids have boring names?

I think it's extra, even if the names are boring. It's got main character energy.

? What does that mean?

Can someone PLEASE explain what “six seven” means? Anyone? Kids keep saying it over and over but I have no idea what it means.

There’s a high school sped teacher who comes on the Today show to explain lingo. Apparently six seven doesn’t really mean anything.

Yes, my kid explained it to me this way too. It's a line from a rap song and then apparently some basketball player quoted it in an interview? So the kids say it too but it has no meaning.

But the way my kid explained it is that "only people with brain rot say six seven" and then I had to ask what brain rot is. Apparently it's a phrase to describe people who are terminally online. So it's like six seven is a meme with no meaning and people just say to indicate they are aware of the meme and nothing more.
