I suspect this is related to the "real" rezoning maps that are supposed to be released this month.
I did not think the next round of boundary maps were expected until October.
Look at the revised boundary review schedule:

The “final scenarios” are not even going to be developed until November, after the governor’s race and well after the September special election.
Yesterday someone posted that their post about DEI and boundary review was deleted. That post has since been deleted. That is interesting. The boundary review thread was recently locked when it came out that the Dem 11th district candidate in the September special election supports using One Fairfax for every decision and every policy. That would mean DEI based boundary review. Exactly in line with that candidate’s views.
If I were the Fairfax Dems (or FCPS…same thing, I realize), and I wanted to do DEI based boundary review, I would not want the 11th district candidate asked about it, or forced into making a statement that would tie FCPS hands later this year.
All signs point to a DEI based boundary review post November election. FCPS may believe a Dem in Richmond gives them a free hand.
Even so, I don’t think that warrants personal security for Reid.
