There's that arrogance someone mentioned. Big turnoff.

No other off the top of my head in that school range tries to pretend they’re something they are not. I don’t even mind the school, think the campus is pretty, but you’re not elite so don’t try to pretend to be.
No the true elites (HYPSM) don't do this, they don't have to. But UR isn't alone in doing it either. Some top schools do it too. Georgetown listed famous alums in its info session. I specifically remember this because one of them was Bradley Cooper. (And yes that is the ONLY thing I recall from that info session.)

So weird. No one really cares about Richmond.
Apparently, some do - to bash it unnecessarily. The truth is that they wouldn’t meet the admissions threshold compared to Elon, Sewanee, etc.
Stay classy.

Anonymous wrote:In my opinion, Richmond can sometimes come across as thinking it’s Harvard. You can buy the hype. Or you can step back and say, wait a minute, you aren’t Harvard. You’re Richmond. Many many schools that are as good as Richmond. Not saying it’s nice. But also don’t understand thr Harvard like arrogance.
Anonymous wrote:Is there an Elon admissions rep on this thread? Seems very odd that so many Elon “parents” are jumping in to assert superiority over this one SLAC in particular. Like maybe there is some consultant data out there that shows that Elon can pick up scalps in the cross admit battle. Very interesting.
