Can someone explain what in the announcement leads them to believe MYS will have GA (not just GA2) teams next season? It does not say that.

We are a GFR family with 2 kids in the system. We have not heard a peep. Would like to know what is going to happen.

They are hoping to attract a bunch of ECNL players to their Aspire (GA2) teams, do well, and get promoted to GA the following season.

McLean going GA isn't going to have the same impact as what happened last year. Last year FCV imploded and Brave and Union merged, so there was essentially 2 less teams, the GA added 2 new teams, so it was at equilibrium, some clubs won and some lost.

This year Union is still around and still ECNL, No teams are getting disbanded there will just be more GA clubs/teams next year, so the dilution of talent will be more severe

I do not read the following as saying that MYS will have both GA and GA Aspire teams. I read it as essentially acknowledging that they are not offering the Union ECNL players a comparable path (since they don’t have GA) but are offering one to ECNL-R players (since they have GA Aspire).

Maybe it’s just badly written, but it says: “Our girls' teams will compete in Girls Academy Aspire, a division within the Girls Academy that offers a structured environment for player development and competition.”

It says this in the ECNL-R section, but it refers to “our girls’ teams” broadly.

For Current ECNL Players: We understand that this decision impacts many players within our club who are involved in ECNL. The opportunities available through the GA will offer a high level of competition, with exposure and growth opportunities. Our technical staff and coaches will be working closely with players and families to ensure a seamless transition into this new framework.
For ECNL-R Players: We recognize the significant commitment our ECNL-R players have made to the club, and we are excited about the new pathways that will be open to them moving forward. They were close to sealing the deal with FVU but right now are on the outside looking in.

NVA is no longer following ECNL girls…or vice versa…..

What’s NVU?

Northern Virginia United. When BRYC merged with Vienna to form BRAVE, the BRYC administration blindsided the boys coaches, who left (were fired actually). Many of them now coach at NVU. BRYC used to be a decent club, but as you can see, they have fallen to pieces.
