With a 36 trillion deficit and massive deficit spending, things can't go on the way they have. I don't doubt we will come across many more $50M for condoms for Gaza type stories. And unfortunately there will be "aid" that effectively ended up in the pockets of local tyrants and terrorist groups.
And I don't doubt that a major reason behind Musk's interest in all the Federal IT systems it related to figuring out where every penny is going and the records kept across separate systems that makes it difficult to audit thoroughly. Hasn't the Pentagon failed audits for so many years?
Yes, I agree it seems like a sledgehammer is being taken to the federal bureaucracy and I am sympathetic for people for whom this must seem like an entire world and way of life is falling apart overnight. But I do understand why this is happening.
I dont think upi understand what is going on if you think that you can extend your sympathy to feds as they are the ones affected. This is going to affect us all and badly. Maga are happy because they are stupid snd at this point i agree with conservatives, people who in distress is their fault. For reference, the working class and small businesses who voted for Brexit in the UK are the ones who have been most painfully screwed by it so following the Putin supported populist story teller du jour did not turn out well for them. Whats going on here is even worse, we will all pay for this and badly, maga first but not only them unfortunately

Trump’s behavior over the past few days will not inspire confidence.
The first week was mostly Trump bombast and fairly predictable, if stupid.
Even the freeze on government spending was largely unclear to outsiders and very inside baseball.
But the tariffs and Musk crashing around the U.S. financial payments system is going to freak global markets out.

But they don’t. You have no clue how government operates if you say this. Additionally, your understanding of Chevron is wrong.
Your post isn't saying anything beyond "THIS IS WRONG" without explaining why. And yes, Chevron gave unelected bureaucrats the power to create regulations.
So based on your reasoning, post Chevron unelected judges will make up regulations as they will interpret the law instead or relying on the interpretation of the various agencies
