Flightradar24 was showing the helicopter flying circles near the airport before the crash.

There’s too many helicopter flights for “VIPs.” Lots of unimportant people taking rides because it’s a perk of the job.

Helicopter flights need to be drastically scaled back around the airport and the river.

Why does it matter how many flights are in/out? This has nothing to do with that.

Because statistically, with helicopters maneuvering around them, the chances of a collision goes up.

Imagine you’re darting across a busy road. As the number of cars increases, the chances of you getting hit goes up. Now imagine there are dozens of other people also darting across this road. As the number of cars and number of people increases, the chances of a collision go up, and at some point it will happen no matter how alert people are.

This is DCUM. Some of us pilot our car in the worst traffic in the country and keep it between the lines, so we throw everything against the wall and hope something sticks. We are experts.
