MLS is the brand of first division professional soccer in the country.

ECNL is a brand that throughout the years positioned itself as the highest level of youth soccer.

With professional teams breeding their players from the academies they have the (allegedly) highest possible talent within their location.

Now that MLS has a youth platform called MLS next it, de facto, means that any kid playing at MLS next is 99% better than any ECNL kid.

Currently, NOVA area has DC Utd, SYC, and Alexandria as the only MLS next options. They’re all within a very close proximity. West Virginia also has an MLS club but they do not have teams at all age groups.

Logically, MLS next wants a club to join the brand’s league within the area between West VA club and DC. All points to Leesburg. In Leesburg you have Loudoun Soccer/NVA, Leesburg Football Club, The St. James (former FCV) and VA Revolution.

Realistically, only Revolution, NVA and The St. James have any options of securing that golden spot.

I’ll let others provide their thoughts on who’s got chances to win that MLSN spot.

1. They get to play against mls next teams.

2. More vision/exposure than ecnl currently

Revolution bootlickers trying their hardest to stay relevant despite their poor gambling skills - money isn’t everything and in spite of it your org is a con job from top to bottom

If Revolution get MLS NEXT and the Girls Academy really takes off, they might just become the elite club in Loudoun area. NVA/Loudoun better watch out!
u mean the reverse right?!

Correct, if NVA gets MLS NEXT and GA it will kill Revolution and STJ.

not really but it doesn’t matter. Mlsnext will force GA on clubs and inflate the ranks with better players. For example if nva
Goes mls next watch out. Those girls will be coming in hot.

Yes, we know. Your boss been saying the same crap for 8 years now. It’s an easy and cheap marketing strategy, make promises, then deliver the same stuff if not worse than the neighbors around. US youth soccer in a nutshell

That's not how it works but yes we all have to wait and see what happens.
The RU merger while staying ECNL should have all but solidified NVA to mls next. DS should be ecstatic if so but they need to hurry and announce before id sessions.

Sucks for the girls if they cant pull a Bethesda.

mark and john are focused on Loudoun Soccer. NVA is a different animal. MH is going to run it into the ground.

It’s cute you believe that.

Enjoy that NVA kool-aid. Our girls can get the same exposure in GA with less BS.
but wont they be GA if they get
Mlsnext

No, they are still two separate leagues that are helping to promote each other. I haven't heard any mention of NVA applying to GA. All the talk is about MLSN so maybe NVA quietly applied for GA with hopes of getting both MLSN and GA for next year, but I doubt it.
