Explain it to me like I’m 5 years old.

Because I don’t understand why these are bad things. What’s wrong with a newspaper editorial page that advocates for personal freedoms? What is wrong with free markets? Is a state-controlled economy more desirable? Have any of you who are upset about this actually lived anywhere with a state controlled economy?

I just don’t get the outrage here. Please help explain it to me?

Are you 15? Even my kids, when 15, would’ve been able to muster an opinion about this.

So you manage to attempt to insult me, while at the same time making zero effort to answer my question, then imply that I’m the stupid one here.

I hope your life gets better before it’s too late.

Well I can pretty much assure you that most big businesses will follow suit in adhering to Trumps requests and that includes Dimon. For sure Zuck and even Google. Apple likely too.

He's going to have all big business in his pocket. You may as well get ready to boycott everyone. I mean it's a fine line between supporting these businesses and needing their services to make life easier. I'm just saying - it's not just Bezos.

Because Trump and Musk work for dictators who use that kind of language to try to pretty up the fact that they’ll just enslave, rob and kill people. They, Trump, Musk and Bezos have no interest in promoting free and fair markets whatsoever.

It's not the topics he picked (for me, at least) it's him controlling what the paper will be allowed to publish. That directly undermines the integrity of the paper. A newspaper is not his personal blog.

I feel bad for the WaPo, which continues to do some great journalism with the few resources they have left. I had put off unsubscribing until today (I already quit Prime in response to some other Bezos nonsense) but this was the line for me.

It’s kind of crazy that DC doesn’t have a single decent paper.
