The dockworkers don't want Harris. That's all. Unfortunately.

That's exactly right. The unions are Trumpers these days. The head of the Longshoreman Union has been a friend of Trump for decades. It's very clear the union has decided to tank the economy weeks before the election in order to ensure victory for Trump. And it's going to work too.

And China will invade Taiwan any day too.

Take a page from Putin invading Crimea with weak UN-lover Obama/Biden and the rest of Ukraine with weak Biden/Harris.

"weak UN-lover"

LOL, people like you are such savages. Everything is about being warmongering, massacre-loving demons who think Dems simply don't kill enough!

Typical psychopath.

UN is the stage for the psychopaths and autocrats indeed.

Thank goodness Obama, weakest foreign policy prez alongside Biden, unilaterally decided to pay the last 30 years of withheld USA UN dues to Iran and friends. Good times.

Sweetheart, don't comment on US FP which has been a disaster under both parties.

The average dock worker earns $300,000/yr!!! I have an advanced degree and work in public service and I don’t earn that much! These are basically knuckleheads with no education who operate equipment, they’re overpaid as it is.

This is political interference. The DoJ needs to look into this immediately.

Boo Hoo. Hard physical work that provides the commodities and manufactured products necessary for civilization makes more money than your non-essential, sap sucking, parasitic, sloppy, slovenly “work” probably remotely performed in your PJs.

The AVERAGE worker? Bullshit they do. I say this coming from an east coast multi generation longshoreman family (uncles, parent, grandparents, etc).

When I was a little girl my friends father was crushed at work on the docks by a container that fell on him. It wasn’t an isolated event; it happened multiple times I remember from my childhood. My uncle worked as a lasher for 20 years. He has back, shoulder and neck problems from the difficult highly repetitive dangerous work he did. Yes he made a good living and has a pension but it wasn’t $300k even with bonuses (more like $150k MAX and that includes bonuses). But he’s got chronic pain and has had five surgeries since retirement 10 years ago.

Would you give up the ability to walk for $150k a year? To drive, and swim, and hunt?

Your whole posts tells me you don’t have any working class ppl in your family. Maybe don’t participate in the discussion if you don’t have the facts.

No slave wages in shipping ports. Wake up.

They currently earn over 100,000 a year. They get paid even if there are not ships.

The union should not be able to hold the country hostage.

Mexican ports are more automated than us and will be the big winners.

The outlandish pay increase demands are to overshadow the real damning term of no automation in ports indefinitely.

The opposite of all Asian and most European ports which are increasingly automated. And yes still have labor needs.

Omg, fire them all and replace with automation and migrant workers.

They are striking because they are obsolete and trying to block technology from enhancing productivity. It'd be like typists striking because they don't like the fact that computers are better than their typewriters.

They're demanding outrageous compensation to the tune of upwards of $150k per year in salary plus want more retirement contributions. It's not even highly educated or skilled work. It is just labor. So sick and tired of extortionist unions demanding gross overcompensation for unskilled, uneducated work. Americans are the laziest and most overpaid bum workers on the planet. They barely pay PhD engineers and scientists doing cutting edge tech development $80-100k in Europe, yet we are told we need to pay a dock worker $150k now to do menial labor that can basically now be completely automated out? Pure extortion.

Get rid of them all, automate, and bring in migrants to fill in gaps.

CEOs want to pay slave-wages and Trump wants to help them do so, they must be idiots if they're a blue collar voting for Trump.
