It's absolutely ridiculous. Open marriages are not common no matter how much these alternative polyamory/polygamous people want to try to make them mainstream.
"Trying to rebuild the trust of my wife and kids" certainly is not the talk of an 'open marriage'.
Having a baby outside of your marriage and making your kids have some half-sibling while still married to their birth mom is just nasty Jerry Springer type stuff.
Fwiw, Grohl is highly unattractive and a drunk. He obviously was stupid to get duped into the oldest gold-digger play in the book.

NP. I’ve heard of wives choosing to be in open/semi-open marriages but not choosing for their spouse to impregnate other women. At a bare minimum he is extremely irresponsible.

People in open marriages do not do big Instagram posts about how they need to "rebuild trust" with their wife and children.
The instagram post was not for his marriage, it was for the court of public opinion.
I find it kind of insulting actually that so many people are so horrified on behalf of his wife and believe she is so traumatized and that he's destroyed her life and blah blah. Give the woman some agency please. She chose her life, she chose her husband, how do you have any idea if she was blindsided or traumatized or whatever. Just because your moral standard is that cheating and a baby outside of marriage is the absolute most evil thing that could have ever happened to her, do you really think a woman who has been in this marriage for so long with this man doesn't have her own set of values?
To the poster who said she can't get out of bed because she thought Dave Grohl "was a wonderful man, a man who could be trusted, a role model," why does cheating erase all those things? Some people, like me, and who knows, maybe his wife, don't see the world and relationships in such binary terms. Things aren't so black and white when it comes to monogamy and biology. People aren't perfect, his wife was well aware of his flaws and accepted him. Maybe this transgression is a bridge to far for her. Who knows, but the public pressure that this is such an unforgivable act is bonkers to me.

If I’m Jordan, divorce him, get her share of $$$ and move on with her life. She’s beautiful and by all accounts a lovely human.
