I watch sports when my teams play, otherwise not interested. I can’t just watch to watch.

I do get passionate about sports from my home state or town though. I even coach so yeah, really into it.

I find people who lack any passion are usually boring and not very intelligent . And no, your photography “business” and instagram isn’t a hobby, it’s a time waster. At least if I’m watching football at home I’m not wasting money.

But to each their own.

The problem with men who watch professional sports is it’s a giant red-flag for toxic masculinity. Don’t invite those type of men into your life!

I’m a woman and I have hobbies, but I am flexible and my hobbies don’t take time or resources away from my family. When I am training for a race, I will run at 5am instead of 6:30am if I need to in order to make it to my child’s soccer game. My husband likes backpacking and camping. He goes away 3-4 weekends a year and I know the dates and plan ahead.

It’s not about what the hobbies are, it’s that some men won’t dial back the hours they spend on their hobbies or shift their schedule once they become homeowners and parents. It’s all about balance. It’s good for men to have friends and maintain relationships. It’s also not ok for them to always put those commitments ahead of the needs of their family.

Just say you're not religious or Christian and don't date guys who are.

Straight male who also rides horses. I’m currently “seeing” someone who rides at my barn. Probably the last time I date a female who rides. She is crazy and one of the most selfish people I’ve met. Trying to figure out my next steps. Just because someone “looks good” doesn’t mean they are a good GF or wife material.

If you allow her ever-changing feelings to dictate what you do, then your life will be a living hell. And ironically, if you stop doing something because she says it’s a “turn off” then she (quite properly) will think your lack of spine is a turn off.

Just do what you want. If she doesn’t like it, there’s always some other woman who will.

A lot of time there seems to be a light switch effect. Something is great and then it isn’t and all of a sudden the whole relationship was never “good”, even though it was.

If you have a hobby that you like to do and she hates it that’s fine. But if you give it up you’ll end up resenting her and then that just starts a downward spiral.

If she hates the fact you play video games and complains about it and you give it up she’ll just complain about the next thing she doesn’t like that you do. Just play your game and put on a headset so you can’t hear her.

But also…don’t play games all day, get up and do something productive then go waste some snotty teenagers on COD.
