Like one of the first things repeat winners have said is how wonderful it is to have their family at the games and to have a crowd cheering for them and I think they specifically mean in contrast to Tokyo when the athletes were very isolated and many events were basically silent or close to it. I just think they feel looser and happier and are enjoying their time in a way they couldn't before.
Definitely! Seeing the athletes having fun on social media has been a nice part of it for me.

We only see what the camera want us to see. NBC said they wanted to film the Olympics like a reality show and that is what we are seeing, lots of close ups of smiles, hugs, and families, hi fives, so it is formulated for us to feel a pseudo relationship with these people.
