Finland has not let millions and millions cross the border. Get rid of all non-citizens and then we can talk.

FFS. Most of the homeless are home-grown. The ones who cross the border work hard, pay for the roof over their heads and the food on their tables.

There are far more foreign-born homeless here than you might expect. They become homeless at a roughly similar rate to native born, but without local connections they often congregate in cities like DC.

I actually agree with this. Give to vetted institutions.

Which goes back to the original premise, that this needs to be done 1-2 hours away from DC, at an affordable location.

Yes, we know you'd love to pawn off DC's homeless on VA and MD suburbs. Not happening, thanks for playing.

Why not? We already know that most of DC's homeless were pawned off on DC from outside of DC.

Too many resources are being spent on chicken dinners, gumbo, and goody bags to enable the street life.

A town in Belgium has been doing that for over 700 years. The town is anchored by a psychiatric hospital where patients receive medication, therapies, and daily activities. Some portion of the patients live as boarders in the homes of town residents.

The system only works if you have stable government funding.

Which we never have for anything here in the US because GOP obstructionism while mumbling incoherent garbage about "communism."

You do remember that the GOP loves to lock up the public in institutions? Democrats won't fund involuntary incarceration.
