Sara here! Kate, I did like The Little Princess when I was a kid, but chose this name because I have so many friends named Sarah but always preferred the Sara spelling. I love the sound the name generally, though.
Yesterday went well - probably around 20g of sugar total. I’ve been having a square or two of 72% Ghirardelli chocolate in the afternoons and that’s been a good treat. But I totally, totally hear you both, Alexandra and Kate, about eating sweets for comfort. I have great healthy coping mechanisms (daily exercise, meditation, blah blah) but man… sometimes I just need some ice cream or a piece of cake. I really think that’s okay, too. We can eat healthy diets overall; those aren’t undone by too much candy. Alexandra, I’m sorry about the fight with your husband. I definitely seek refuge in sugar in those instances, or if the kids have been particularly difficult or whatever.
We had planned to see friends tomorrow night and they just cancelled (second time in the past few weeks). They have a lot going on, but I’m so disappointed. Maybe if I make blondies to cheer myself up I can donate at least some of them to the neighbors?
