Nichole is safe for the time being. Hannah is on the verge of rape and a forced marriage, possibly teen pregnancy by her rapist.

Two moments in this episode really got me in the feels. First, when June was sobbing about how she needs to be with Hannah. As a mother, I felt that. I was crying right along with her.
Second, when she yelled at Luke for doing nothing for years. Damn! That was a long time coming. I’m surprised she didn’t say it sooner. He needed to hear it.

I think that's what they want us to think, but goodness I hope that's not true. Bombing a bunch of young girls wouldn't exactly endear the Americans to the rest of the world.

Oh lord. I hope not. I’d like to see some kind of vindication for America at the end of all this. You can’t come back from bombing your own captive children. I don’t think their raid will succeed because we have another season to go. But it would be so disappointing to see her finally getting Hannah back only through the help of the architect of Gilead. So do they want us to forget that the local group of Commanders in Boston are not in charge of all of Gilead? We’ve seen the more powerful Commanders in DC in a previous season. That’s just all out the window and Lawrence is free to create New Bethlehem without their input?

Did we get in a time machine and travel back to an alternate Gilead where Serena and June's backstory was one of mutual understanding and dare I say, friendship? Because I truly enjoyed the Serena who showed up to the birth party, humbly apologized for being late, awkwardly introduced June, who shared side glances with June, rolling her eyes at the wife's fake birth machinations, and then stood apart from the other wives to exchange a look to commiserate with June when the Handmaid died in childbirth? But it's not the story/history of Serena and June.
I think it would have been brilliant to have a reveal in the flashback that the Handmaid with Serena wasn't June, but the Waterford's first Handmaid. It would have gone at least part of the way to develop Serena's character into the woman who did monstrous things in pursuit of a baby of her own after a Hamdmaid she considered something of a friend betrayed her and then killed herself.
Anyhoo, I did think the scenes between Serena and June in this episode were really well done and very touching. The redemptive-ish arc for both of them was nicely done. It will be interesting to see Serena now put in a position to desperately want to get her child back.

Completely random observation - I am catching up on this season and jsut finished episode 7. I watched it through the credits. The name of the producer caught my attention - Michael Stoyanov. I got a little excited - could Blossom's brother really be producing Handmaid's Tale? Is that what happened to him?
Alas, no. After a quick Google/IMDB search, turns out there are two Michael Stoyanovs. Who knew. The Michal Stoyanov producing Handmaid's Tale is not Blossom's brother for anyone wondering.

Nah- then as a mom twice over, June would have said that’s the problem. Or Serena would have known from watching all the handmaid’s’ deliveries.
I doubt either of them have seen a retained placenta.
