Snoop targeting 50 year olds in the 2022 Super Bowl with songs that are 30 years old is basically the same as if Super Bowl XXVI in 1992 had featured Chubby Checker and Neil Sedaka.

Loved it. Kendrick Lamar was really rapping/singing and put on a great performance.

Fiddy was singing to a back track, which is probably normal for a halftime performance. You could tell when he was coming down from hanging upside down and the verse started but he wasn't signing. NBD to me. Something similar seemed to happen with Eminem but I expected that. I do think Snoop was all him, no back track. Not sure about Mary J Blige or Dre.

Dre discovered Kendrick Lamar.

I was wondering how Kendrick Lamar fit into this group - thanks, PP! I’m 43 and can’t wait for the show - have my Snoop Dogg Cali Red ready to go, though I also debated gin and juice for obvious reasons.

He's from Compton and actually won a Pulitzer last year.

Another (young) Gen Xer here who loved it. I remember blasting "California Love" in my car as a teen (grew up in SoCal) and I still love that song. Not the same without Tupac but still amazing.

It was so good. I could have watched that for an hour. Snoop especially crushed it, great energy and sounded perfect. Kendrick Lamar choreography was really cool. Great all around

Yes, more California Love would have been amazing! Loved MJB and Family Affair was phenomenal! My teens were mortified at dh and me dancing around.

I live in “Diego” and my son lives in the “Bay”-(area!) so this song really represented!

These performers continue to be iconic and will likely die legends each in his own right.
Sans Kendrick Lamar > he is still young.

Sure Fiddy did gain some lbs. over the years, but he still looked great.

Dre + Eminem have aged so well.
And their performance energy levels solidified this.

Mary also is aging well.
Her voice was great.

I was ready to love it. The sets were great, the concept was amazing. Even as it was, it was the best halftime show in years, but the sound balance was off and the main thing I could hear was the fans cheering.

That said, they did Generation X proud.

Interesting. What does Dee say about it?

She was on Wendy Williams a few years ago and she talked about the incident a little bit but said she'd talk about it more in her book that she was working on. I don't think her book ever came out though, even though Wendy offered to help publish the book and to also help her with a movie to tell her story.
