Lebron started playing basketball when he was 8 years old. Had he not started playing until 16 years old, he would not be anywhere near the player he is today. If Steph Curry didn’t start playing basketball until he was 16, he wouldn’t be in the NBA and probably wouldn’t even have played college basketball. These guys are where they are because of intense basketball training starting at an early age.

Give more kids in Baltimore City and PG County access to intense lacrosse and I guarantee you will get better lacrosse players in the DMV and Baltimore areas. But is that what the current lacrosse community wants?

I am not talking outcomes, only access. Quota's across all sports throughout youth sports. That would be the goal of the more diversity in sports like lacrosse. I propose take it to all sports. Let skill rise to the top once we have equal access. And as mentioned, interest level should not be a reason for altering this.

Think about how different football, basketball, baseball/softball, lacrosse, swimming, track and field, soccer would look? Far more diversity across both the college and professional levels that would mirror our society...which is the goal of DEI, right?

Agree that you can't legally ban musicians, black or white, from selling music with the N word because of the Constitution, just like you can't ban the KKK from holding rallies and saying the word. But good people of all races ought to agree that the word is abhorrent and SHOULD never be said, even if there is a legal right to say it, and a small number sick people of all races might choose to exercise that right.

And if I am the coach and I find out any of my players said it on or off the field they get consequences.

The game was in a hostile environment where anti-Black racist terroristic threats against the away team. Idk any predominately Black school where white students or any other race of students would be forced to participate in an athletic event under these circumstances.

Not saying the entire school is “white supremacist”, but this particular white supremacist act was condoned.

And everyone should know it happens on teams as well. Amhearst College issue was huge. The reality is lacrosse as a sport has work to do and it should start early. What should happen in youth, club or HS if the N word is thrown out. Typically, "they made a mistake", "bad judgement". Maybe a game suspension? Should they be removed from the team? Does it matter if COP are on the team? At what level of tolerance does it amount to complicity?

What was the context of these chants using the N-word? If it was in a song they were "re-singing", it shouldn't be a big deal.
If the N-word is so controversial, NO ONE should be able to use it. Language is universal. It belongs to everyone.
