Agree. I am pro vax, anti mandate, particularly on kids. We are completely stunting the development of a generation of kids. I couldn’t imagine having a young child dealing with this stuff. Falling behind at every marker. And we are supposed to cherish our young people, aren’t we?
And no chance on booster.

I truly hope that the private schools who are pushing for school mandates think about this more thoroughly. It is a nightmare to be in a private school at this time. They like to cater to the Covidian Karens.
Are Montgomery County private schools pushing to mandate boosters? That is crazy. I can see how tough and disruptive that would be, to pull your kid out of a private school.
PP, if it makes you feel better though, MCPS already requires vaccines for any student athlete over the age of 12.

Tracking them seems very labor intensive. And it offers no physical means of control over these people.
A better alternative would be concentrating them in places where their ability to move about is restricted. Like, a camp. Concentrate them in a camp, where they can be monitored and the rest of us can be protected from them. I think that’s probably the final solution.
Maybe I’ll see if I can sign up for public comments tomorrow so I can brief the council about this option.

I happen to know the viral load from a vaxxed and boosted person is still quite sufficient to infect someone else quite easily and quickly. I infected my mother in a ten minute car ride before I even had symptoms.

The Covid vaccine it not fully FDA-approved for kids age 6-12. It is still EUA.
What EUA vaccine is required for a child to attend public school? None. That would be insanity.
It is unethical to require a 6 year old to get an EUA vaccine for any reason. I can guarantee you that history will look back at the data and come to that conclusions. These vaccine mandates for kids are truly unethical with the information we currently have.

Note that those school vaccine mandates exist to help with limiting transmission to other students, not to protect students from themselves. It's uncertain at this point whether or not there is much of a long term transmission benefit to these new vaccines.

I have an unvaccinated 7 year old and am worried about exactly this.
Parents shouldn’t have to make health related decisions based on such horrible public health policy. This is maddening.
If the shot is effective and necessary, that’s one think. It hasn’t even been fully approved for kids age 6-12. Still EUA.

It is virtue signaling at its worst. I wouldn't give in. If you are in California, my unvaxed 21yo son was just in So Cal for 10 days and not one place was enforcing checking for the vax card. Also, dining outdoors is okay for unvaxed. The issue of myocarditis is real and seems under reported in this country compared to stats from other countries, and I would be very hesitant to give in if I were you.

They will have to relent on this. It's not going to fly in most of the country and when COVID drops back down to background noise during the spring and summer there will be pushback.
