Reliance on soccer rankings especially for anything pre-11v11 is really inaccurate. Rosters at these ages are fluid and players can be quite different from game to game. And with pre-GA (10,11) teams playing as Villarreal none of their games will be factored into the rankings. But if it makes you feel better to study these rankings, you do you. Nobody but you cares about these cross league rankings and certainly not the clubs. The only ranking that matters is in your league's conference standings because that's how you get entry to the national tournaments and showcases.

The numbers don't lie.

FCV is the only top 100 team in their conference. They can say how they would or wouldn't do in ECNL and the reality is they would be fine but they would not be a lock to win the MA in ECNL. They would actually have to compete to be top 4 considering they are 3rd now in GA.

But the reality is, they will not be in ECNL and at a certain point parents will realize that their kids are simply not being challenged. Even here people are beginning to dismiss FCV. It is no wonder that there are so many threads about FCV likely started by FCV parents as an attempt to stay in the public eye and be noticed. Nobody cares about their wins because nobody respects who they are even playing.

FCV parents are in a no win situation. If you win it is expected and nobody is either impressed or cares. If you lose then you are relentlessly mocked. And frankly, a part of earning respect is winning games on a consistent basis against respected, quality opponents. Waiting for Jeff Cup or GA Playoff results just isn't enough especially when you don't advance in what is considered a watered down league.

GA is not the draw that you think it is and your 9th place 09 team is a glimpse of the future of your teams and the league moving forward without being ECNL.

But FCV did lose, FCV have never beaten them and Loudoun is not even the best team in the conference, that would currently be Union.

You did tie Sporting Delaware and lost to Armour so, you might want to just worry about getting out of 3rd place in a weak GA division before you speculate on how you would do in ECNL. And, by the way, you do have to speculate how you would do in ECNL. Every season spent on the outside looking in as GA weakens and more and more players leave your team for ECNL teams. Expect more closer games with GA clubs, not because they are getting better but because your team will slowly regress to the mean.

The first thing you should do this year is compare the coaches list between the ECNL and GA showcases.
