14 games are not needed to be eligible for the postseason. it was changed during some budget crises many moons ago (i believe for lacrosse only now), and the coaches have never banded together to get it changed.Anonymous wrote:always wondered why Ffx county caps at 11 when 14 games are needed to be eligible for post season? Is it just cynical view that they don’t want to pay for officials so they make schools fork out for those tournaments to fill the gap?

They also had a first year coach and got better later in the season and won the State title. If they played Madison later it would have been a blowout.

Anonymous wrote:Robinson along with all other Fairfax County schools have mush less control over their schedules. Arlington, Loudoun, Prince William, and Alexandria can schedule 14 games. Fairfax County schools can only schedule 11. The loop hole is that they can schedule games then play in up to two tournaments, not to exceed 14 games. Robinson's non-district games included Madison, McLean, Yorktown, Langley, and Cosby. With seven district games and nine games scheduled for Robinson, they could only play teams who were either in the McLean/Robinson spring break tournament or the South County tournament. Robinson had a long running series against Landon and has played Prep. I think they still would if they could. Robinson would beat Riverside.
