Who knows why anyone does FA?

Some who do FA include the pets too. It’s sick but their thinking is better we all die together.

I just want to weep reading this. I doubt tbi made Chung cloudy. If this was FA my money is on her. Omg the stuff posted o her IG prior to it being locked was awful. Everyone seemed to love John. No one says a word about the mom.

Sorry I'm just seeing this...
I'm not asking for specifics, but what do you mean it was awful? 😳

NP

There was nothing awful in her IG prior to it being locked. It was the same as thousands of other IG accounts. She had photos of her dog, her family, outings with friends, trips they took. I don’t know what the PP means about it being awful.

+1. Some of the posters on this thread…wow. Like, oh, they went to Burning Man? Then they are, without question, drug-addicted sex maniacs with morbid depression who definitely would murder their spouse, baby, and dog before committing suicide. But first they went on an 8 mile hike so as not to arouse suspicion!

+1 I looked at her whole Instagram and it was like anyone else on here who leads a UMC life. Family, friends, travel. And I didn’t see any pictures of her nude or topless or even a party lifestyle. Also still waiting to hear from PP’s who allude to her brother’s Instagram and her exBF who allegedly said “I used to hit that.” Is it sexist or what that people are so focused on her, including the way she dressed at a festival, and never commenting on Jon? She graduated from Berkeley and worked in tech for a long time. Yet people keep commenting on her rich husband or rich ex as if she had no accomplishments of her own. Why aren’t people commenting on the way Jon dressed at festivals? I’ve seen pictures of people at festivals (not even Burning Man per se) and everyone dresses very scantily.

I was the one (above) who asked for clarification in regards to what the pp thought was so awful about her Instagram.

I don't know... I keep getting this icky kinda "Yoko Ono" vibe, when it comes to everyone villainizing Ellen (nothing related to the Asian component though).

Yoko Ono was villainized.
Yes, she was a strong & confident woman, yet she was also jarring & polarizing to many people.
She clearly had a compelling voice & major influence with John Lennon (as all wives should).

Ultimately though, it was his decision to leave The Beatles, yet she always was and is still now inherently blamed for the break-up.

From reading these posts, I keep getting the same blamey feeling towards Ellen... is it that people just need SOMEONE to blame?

Am I the only one feeling this way?

I feel this way too. I’m the PP commenting right before you. I think it is because she is an Asian woman that people are vilifying her. Part jealousy (fit, attractive, smart, rich, baby) and part judgmental (ooh she went to Burning Man, ooh she dressed in scanty leather). They think Jon is a great guy for taking his daughter to a museum but how dare Ellen hold on to her identity and go to festivals and do extreme outdoors activities while being a mom.

Just check back in a month. I don’t expect those reports to come out anytime soon.

You think THIS is the only thread discussing this?

A friend of mine is writing an article regarding the public's concern/inquisitiveness (for lack of a better word) regarding what happened to this family -- she said that there are an unprecedented number of discussions online about this family... only comparable to the election. She said that there are hundreds of thousands of comments and questions.

So relax... this won't be the first or only discussion thread about this, and besides, everyone here is keeping this discussion very respectful.

There's nothing here but civil discussion.

Civil discussion? Some. Pure idiocy, lots.

How do you suggest we reference them? Mr. & Ms?

I think there are ways to use their names that don't invoke that weird sense of familiarity and it is not a hard line. But I would refer to them as mom/dad, as gerrish/chung, as John Gerrish and Ellen Chung.

But weird posts waxing about how much John loved his baby and took her to the museum or how Ellen was really struggling with her TBI are creepy AF

And yet, here you are... following right along.
Pot meet kettle.

I’m sure you can start a thread about how you can’t believe that it’s not FA and how everything is a conspiracy…not sure how long it’ll stay up before it’s deleted, but go ahead and reach for the stars.

Good idea💡 you’re convinced FA will be the CoD? What for manner of death?

Do you think we’ll hear something today?

You don't know her. Obviously I am not referring to her as my mom, I would be referencing her as the mother. You know who no one is calling by name? Miju. IMO because no one is trying to invoke sympathy by painting her as a real person to turn emotional negative energy towards the other party. Miju gets to stay 'the baby' because no one thinks she is anything but a victim so she is given a level of respect that the others are not, or disrespect? It isn't just the names it is the WAY they are being used. Many, not all, posters are using their names to emotionally manipulate their intended reader. IMO.

My auto correct changes Miju every time, idk why. So, if I don’t catch it I misspell her name and I don’t like doing so.

Wonder if this family really did dislike this world and feared what it held for their baby?

You keep trying to make the “suicide because of anti-Asian sentiment” angle happen. It’s not going to happen.

Yup, we go round and round with the theories until the toxicology reports are published. That and the occasional “I’m new get me up to speed” post.
