The appeal is that he effectively dumped her/made her exit the relationship 20 years ago and it killed her inside that he didn’t change for her. He was a hot, handsome, successful movie star who gave her attention and made her feel validated. Jennifer garner once said that Bens attention is like the sun shining down on you, but when he rotates, it’s cold and lonely (or something like that.) narcissists like that drag you down with them and make you crave their approval. It probably made her feel great that he never got over her, or that’s what he was saying

Yup, he love bombed her at a vulnerable moment when she was reeling from the Arod cheating and trying to accept their "happy blended family" was ending. Forgetting everything she damn well should have learned by now (cheating addicts don't change, don't rush straight from one relationship to the other a la Ben to Marc Anthony last time), she dove headfirst into this foolhardy relationship. Stupid, stupid, stupid. I agree with those who say she'll hang in there as long as humanly possible, definitely years, because it will be so hard for her to let go of this "one true love" narrative she created.

It's hard when she is quoted as saying "True love does exist and some things do last forever. And that's real. I want to put that message out in the world". This was after she reunited with Ben the second after she broke up with A-Rod.

That's a lot of pressure to keep this marriage going no matter how much he sinks into his addictions and prior behavior.

They had a spat. Lots of couples do. It was just in camera. If anything they’re more human for it.

Now those steps are dumped and it’s Affleck’s kids.

Pretty disgusting that her 'family with A-Rod' whom she played house with and mom too and documented it all over social media and in the press...and photo ops with his kids and her kids together and how everyone was one big happy family....

and then POOF!!! She's gone and now she has a brand new step family where she is the best step-mom ever and her kids are again best friends with a new set of step-siblings.

It is insane. It's mind f()LK to all the children involved in this charade and they are all disposable.

They don’t need fan support. They need to stop being thirsty narcissists. But unfortunately that generally can’t be undone.
